Pretty appropriate, huh? It's easier to be like Jesus when you're not MAGA.

He also said that his decision was "centered around [a] daily struggle" many people might find relatable".

"In the piece, Duncan said that the switch was a long time coming, starting “well before” Trump “tried to steal the 2020 election in Georgia,” but he admitted there wasn’t any “date on a calendar or line in the sand that points to the exact moment in time” he made up his mind to become a Democrat.

...

Although Duncan said “there will never be a shortage of people or places to exercise the time-tested approach of loving your neighbor, regardless of race, religion, lifestyle or immigration status,” he wrote that recent decisions by his former party to cut SNAP benefits and slash Medicaid funding go against his Christian faith."

You went to the democrats to love your neighbor? That's good. You neighbor has been telling little boys that they can be little girls and play on the girls team and kick ass.

😵‍💫

Other peoples' genitals and brown people hiding under the bed.... the high-minded concerns of MAGA

A vote for a Dem is a vote for a Dem. He has family, friends and a congregation who agree with him and also vote their consciences. That constitutes a movement. Welcome to the party, Geoff.
Yep

The Democrat Party is too intolerant for mainstream voters.

Maybe he switched because he doesn't want to sound bitter and childish like the kinds of comments Righties tend to make.

“I listened to the death threats come into my family, I watched guards outside my house, outside my office all because I was a Republican, and I wouldn’t lie like Donald Trump did about the election being rigged,” said Duncan as he recalled the aftermath of Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election results.

// Duncan got tired of the endless hose of MAGA gaslighting like the above.

Why are you talking to the neighbor of @CaughtInThe about little boys and little girls? Also, why did the neighbor of @CaughtInThe decide that you and seemingly you alone are a good person to talk to about little boys and little girls?

That’s creepy.

I think it is weird for a poster to want to talk about little boys and little girls with the neighbors of people they met online, but you do you. I’m just glad that none of my neighbors want to talk to you.

What the heck?

Loving your neighbor means loving the people that makes your skin crawl just as strongly as someone who shares with you in your most cherished values. For many MAGA folks, that means they must love people who are transexual, communist, poor, etc. Its a very high standard and that people generally have to actively work at their entire life (I know I do) as it means being emotionally vulnerable to people against one's instincts.

Well-said. This seems to be an emergent sentiment. Great blog posted recently by Snowflake here in another thread- worth sharing:

I mean, cool I guess, but it doesn't mean much when they switch after leaving office. If Republicans with a conscience want to do anything meaningful, they have to either have to switch parties while in office, or...just be good independent Republicans and stop being Trump's butlers.

I think he's the guy that fought against Trump's lies the whole time.

He has, but then he leaves office, where he's essentially irrelevant. People need to grow a sack when they're in the Republican party and in office, when they can actually do something about their Trump problem. There's nothing he can do now. Granted, he's doing more than I am, simply sitting here and bitching about it, but in the end, we both probably have about the same impact, and unlike him, I've voted for the last 25 years to keep the GOP out of power in nearly every single election I've voted in. I've done my part. Minimally, but it still counts.

Same old broken record from maga. Boy, is it tired!

It is just an anecdotal story.
And the story itself is a hateful Radical Left smear of Christians.
The Progressives still hate Christians.
The only religion that the Left has not expressed contempt for is the most intolerant and violent religion, Islam.
