As was proved they did the same on Twitter 1.0 - as well as Facebook's Zuckerburg testified to Congress that the Biden admin pressured them to censor and ban conservative speech, and those that spoke against the "agreed upon Covid messaging"

Here is - ACTUAL CENSORSHIP -

Yes how terrible for the government to combat misinformation about the deadliest pandemic in a century.

"misinformation" many of which, is now well known to be true.
"Misinformation" was code name used by Biden admin as anything that was against what they said.

LOL
'pushed' them to stop the spread of dangerous misinformation concerning a pandemic?
That seems like measure a government that values human life would do.

What is more disconcerning is that Google itself did not ban the proven dangerous and false information.

Trying to save lives by restricting disinformation is bad.

I can remember when media had fact checkers. They were under the dubious impression that integrity was important to their bottom line. Now it seems like it just gets in the way.

I love this, basically saying the quiet part out loud.

"Reflecting the Company’s commitment to free expression, YouTube will provide an opportunity for all creators to rejoin the platform if the company terminated their channels for repeated violations of COVID-19 and elections integrity policies that are no longer in effect," the lawyer representing Google wrote.

Integrity messing with the bottom line.

Integrity according to who? You?
Who should be able to say what is acceptable to say and what isn't?
The part you are conveniently glossing over - They admitted that the Biden admin pressured them to block and ban conservative voices that questioned the election.

So, you are straight up lying now. The letter to the HJC doesn't state anything regarding the election. It covers the pandemic only.

It also doesn't mention Republican or Conservative in the text, nor does it allude to either. While I am uncomfortable with the precedent set by the Biden administration, there is a sliver of sense that I can understand. It is you that are inferring that 'misinformation' was being peddled by Conservative voices.

Throughout my life anyway, media companies have employed fact checkers because they felt fealty the truth was essential to the survival of their enterprise. Afterall, the reasoning went, why would anyone read us if they can't rely on what we say? That is sound reasoning. But now, people don't necessarily want the truth, people want to spread information that isn't true and media knows that outrageous stuff like cranky conspiracy theories get clicks and profit, so here we are.

The article did not say the Biden administration asked them to ban anyone.

Inject disinfectant!
Vaccine causes you to become magnetic!

This is the stupid shit Biden wanted to stop.

Read again --
"Reflecting the Company’s commitment to free expression, YouTube will provide an opportunity for all creators to rejoin the platform if the company terminated their channels for repeated violations of COVID-19 and elections integrity policies that are no longer in effect," -- Google

They had a policy on election integrity, but is there any indication that they used it?

Is this how you are going to attempt to distract from the Trump administration attempting to censor people? Let's make this simple: the government should not pressure companies to stifle speech. Now, I am worried far more about those efforts now, than those efforts done years ago by people no longer in power. Your attempts at distraction from the current events are noted and dismissed. We cannot change the past, only work to see that it no longer happens.

Um..no, it is not "well known to be true". Mostly it's still just lies and disinformation.

Cool. I'm glad Russian bots will have free reign again.

I for one don't think that YouTube should have censored Anti-vaxxers. Remember, we want these people to remove themselves from the gene pool. It's better for us, for them, and for America, and we don't need to lift a finger to see the benefit. We just need to let them rant and convince their fellow idiots to mainline COVID particles in order to own the left or something, then viola, they're gone forever and the rest of us get their stuff.

Everybody wins!

But the left claims this never happened.

Sorry that doesn't override the 1st amendment.
