Good Luck, East Coast

Looks like just a bunch of rain and wind for me. I don't have to worry about the wind anymore. The neighbor's tree we were worrying about falling did exactly that in the last wind storm. Took out our deck . . .

That's pretty much what it was - at least in the immediate DC suburbs in Virginia. Chesapeake Bay Bridge and areas north were a completely different story, and the Northeast is going to get pounded.

I hope that everyone in the path of whatever is going on right now makes it through safely. There's a low pressure system that is concerning, from what I've read.

Basically a mini-hurricane in January.

New Castle County Airport in Delaware recorded a wind gust of 59 mph.
Trees down. Power outages. Flooding.

We took a beating overnight. Those southeast winds were wicked until they dropped out and the wind directions changed around midnight.

Power went out in my area around 8:30pm and then was restored around 3am.

Thankfully, we just took some trees/branches down but no damage otherwise. Will need to get the landscapers in to clean it up.

Widespread power outages, power lines and trees down in my area though. All schools are closed.

How’s everyone else this morning?

We only lost power for a split second, other than that just a lot of rain, but never hard enough that it overwhelmed the drainage system.

Now, that said, Fredericksburg city is apparently a mess since the Rapahanock has been collecting all of that rain run off for the last 24 hours and the river reached 4 ft above flood stage last I checked.

Mine seem to think weather is a good excuse to go outside.

Thankfully there is a portion of my property fenced in 😂
mine hates the rain...she would rather have pee floating in her eyeballs before she goes out in it...but we pick her up and put her out there....during really bad stuff she uses pee pads and she definitely uses them...she's getting older now and has to use them more often...unfortunately she is probably very close to the end of her life. She is 15 now and I have been seeing some signs...I try to ignore them, but its painfully obvious that she is slowing down, getting weaker, can't climb steps very well and so on....

ours flickered a bit, but it was the part about the rear part of my Ram pickup moving to the left when it was supposed to be straight and going down the road that made my hair stand on end...and that happened a few times....had to stop and wait a minute as I gathered myself and then went forward...
