‘I Want to Try and Get to Heaven’: Trump Gets Reflective on ‘Fox & Friends’

“I want to try and get to heaven, if possible,” he explained. “I’m hearing I’m not doing well. I am really at the bottom of the totem pole. But if I can get to heaven, this will be one of the reasons.”

Holy mother of God! What a thing to say at 8 o’clock in the morning.

This would have been a highly unusual admission from any president, but it seemed especially out of character coming from this one. The man who is regarded as a messiah by many of his own supporters — a belief he has encouraged at every turn — says now that he knows he’s no saint.

Trump laughed with the sinners his whole life, now at the end he wants to fly with the saints. LOL, lotsa luck.

Hmmm. Let's see Trumpy take the 10 commandments test -

  1. I am the LORD your God; you shall not have strange gods before me.
  2. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.
  3. Remember to keep holy the LORD’s Day.
  4. Honor your father and mother.
  5. You shall not kill.
  6. You shall not commit adultery.
  7. You shall not steal.
  8. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
  9. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife.
  10. You shall not covet your neighbor’s goods.
I'm guessing that he fails at least 8 out of 10. Maybe even all 10 depending on how you account for things. I can't imagine Trumps elevator to the afterlife will have an UP button.

Luckily for The Donald, I don't think there's a limit on how many times you can break number 6 before God gives up on you. But if there is a limit, he's doomed.

He is delusional. Yet................... a certain crop of people will say something like "he deserves to go to Heaven" because they are even more delusional than he is.

I won’t fault a person for sinning, acknowledging it, and hoping it won’t cost them because God is forgiving. I hope I’ve lived a decent life but I’m sure the glass in my house means I shouldn’t be throwing stones. We’ve all, hopefully unintentionally, hurt folks who didn’t have it coming. I’ve got red in my book I’ve asked God’s, and others, forgiveness for so I’m forgiving of it in others who want to do better.

I try not to ask of others that which I won’t give.

I just hope he’s sincere. The first step to resolving a problem is an acknowledging you have one.

Of course, proof of process is one doesn’t keep doing the things, like cheating, lying and swindling. It seems Trump may be having an issue with that part of looking for forgiveness; be it in Heaven or of society.

Pretty sure he missed that train long ago.

If Trump is a Protestant, then faith alone is enough for entry into heaven. If he’s a Catholic, he’ll need good works as well for salvation, so he’s screwed there.

So getting into heaven depends on your denomination?

You're destined to take the "down" escalator, Trump. Live with it.

Things you say after bad news from your doctor.

"I want to try and get to heaven."

Not I want to get to heaven.

Try.

Not I want to be in heaven.

He's more interested in appearances than reality

Curious as to what they think Jesus would have said about that.
Don’t know. I don’t have much use for religion. I was raised a Catholic though and so I would think that good works are necessary to get into heaven. Faith alone shouldn’t be enough. Protestants have always annoyed me.

I'm always curious as to what Christians think. I attended Catholic schools for ten years and still can't understand them.

I've also heard confession is really good for the soul...

Lots of fake Christians out there...

People who love shit like this.

NO person is a Christian if they support Trump.

You literally cannot be.

I thought it just made you feel better by absolving you of responsibility for your actions.
OK, put it this way: Trump's confession(s) would be really good for my soul.

:)
