the TV station SWR has sacked the German.Syrian mod Helen Fares because of her support of BDS.

BDS stands for boycotting Israel.

there is a video in English where Helen Fares defends her case.

BDS = boycott, divest, sanctions

It is the same, in a milder form, of boycotting products that say “Made in Russia” that were made in Crimea.

It is not antisemitism.

BDS involves no such limitations. BDS is total on Israel

i did not say so …. but the SWR sees it that way.
a difficult topic in Germany.

SWR may also have a point. The question is are other nations with even more egregious violations of human rights also targeted for BDS? Is China targeted for its occupation of Tibet? etc etc etc the list of violators around the globe is long.

Send her over here.

ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, would be going fisticuffs over signing her.

Could probably walk right into most US College jobs as well.

Make your case. I am open.

Okay. It’s like boycotting Russia for occupying Crimea.

Israel is a country. Not an ethnicity or religion. They should not be offended if they are treated like one.

If Haaretz which is an Israeli newspaper, was instead an American one it would have been shut down for being antisemitic despite being owned, run and written primarily by Israeli Jews. The US media is very heavily biased towards being positive towards Israel than being anti Israel

She went on instagram and recorded herself buying some chocolate milk that had given her “real comfort” but she has an app that shows it should be boycotted because of association with Israel so she got another chocolate milk. Not all heroes wear capes

BDS is considered a anti semitic organization in Germany. The Bundestag voted on it.

So yes firing that lady is a correct move.

Germany on the wrong side of history.

Not the first time.

You said: "It is the same, in a milder form, of boycotting products that say “Made in Russia” that were made in Crimea.

BDS is not limited to products that say "Made in Israel" but that were made in the West Bank

how .. and why …. ?

I don't really think that needs to be explained.

You are certainly free to feel that punishing someone for being part of BDS is ok, so you might think this is the right side of history.

Also, i didn't mean to come off as if I was taking a crap on Germany. The US has also been on the wrong side of history many times, probably more times than Germany during the time period that the US was actually a country.

Texas tried to pass a law similar here, but i think it is either on hold or thrown out by the courts.

Nope, this time Germany is on the right side. BDS and the folks who run it drown in anti semitism.

Technically America is older than Germany. However like any country no individual is responsible for a country’s actions.
