Only after he decided to use it.Zimmerman was also carrying a handgun. That gave him the upper hand.
What is your point?I saw all sorts of folks wearing hoodies today. black, white, asian.
no one thought any of them looked scary. they werre just trying to stay warm. and maybe have a little privacy.
What is your point?
Trayvon was not found to be suspicious because of his hood.
Trayvon pulled his hood up only after he saw he was being observed by Zimmerman.
His hoodie has nothing to do with this event.
And he is wrong.its the cause of it, according to Gerald Rivera.
It just doesn't work like that, out here in the real world.
If you see some white dude in overalls, dirty boots, foo-man-chu mustache, probably dipping snuff and a greasy baseball cap, you're going to automatically sterotype him as a racist redneck and treat him differently than you would someone else presenting themselves in a different way. And, please, don't insult our intelligence and say that you wouldn't, because we all know better.
Everyone is prejudice. Libbos do more to keep prejudice and racism alive than any other group in this country.
And he is wrong.
So what?
Geraldo is a Libbo. What do you expect?
However, he maintained that Martin's hoodie was to blame for his death
Actually his point is. is that certain articles of clothing represent a certain element in society, and if you dress like that element, may just end up being viewed and treated as that element....
a hooded sweatshirt, represents criminals?
sounds like a pretty ignorant POV.
i was on 6th ave and 17th street yesterday.
and on the F train.
lots of adults & kids wearing hoodies.
were they all criminals?
is it rational & logical for anyone to even assume such a stupid thing?
It's common sense, I wouldn't expect you to get it, kid. You of course, since you can't actually debate....
calling me a "kid", and then accusing me of not being able to debate, is pretty ****ing ironic.
stick to the topic, and stop personalizing the debate.
I did, I posted my position, you lied about it in your peurile response, as usual. Don't you have work to do?
when I do my work, how I do my work, is none of your ****ing business and totally irrelevant to this thread.
your inability to stick to any topic, and insistence on ALWAYS personalizing the argument and making childish personal attacks, shows how little respect you have for these issues.
I'm embarrassed for you.
Psssssst - I'm not going to pull out a gun and shoot him. I won't even care what he looks like as long as he minds his own business and I mind mine. Did Zimmerman do the same?
Here's how I see it. A black guy in a hoodie does look more suspicious than a white guy in a hoodie to most of society. It's not fair. It not right. It is what it is though.
As a generality that is probably correct.
Black people are more likely to be convicted by juries too.
The bottom line is that black people look more suspicious than white people, no matter what they are wearing.
I don't agree with that. Anyone well dressed, say a suit and a tie, doesn't really garner suspicion, unless they are wearing black suits and sunglasses and claim to be chasing aliens....
