Barricades went up outside the Fulton County courthouse on Thursday as District Attorney Fani Willis reportedly nears a decision on whether to indict Donald Trump over allegations the former president tried to undermine the results of Georgia’s 2020 election, New Yorker staff writer Charles Bethea reported from Atlanta.
Bethea posted video on social media showing a long column of orange barriers lined up on the edge of a one-way street in front of the courthouse.
“Barricades erected outside the Fulton County courthouse now,” Bethea tweeted. “Looks like preparation for some big legal news…”
Willis in May suggested that a decision on whether to indict Trump was likely in August. The Atlanta prosecutor sent a letter to county Superior Court Chief Judge Ural Glanville requesting that judges not schedule trials and in-person hearings during the first three weeks of August, CNN reported.

Sheriff Pat Labat was among 20 officials copied on the letter, according to the report.
The Daily Beast on Wednesday reported that the Fulton County case could turn out to be “the most consequential — and imminent” case the former president is facing.
Joe Pagliery wrote for The Beast that, “An Atlanta prosecutor’s probe into the former president’s attempts to rig the 2020 election in Georgia is expected to shortly culminate in Trump’s third indictment — or his fourth, if Jack Smith indicts Trump again before Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.”
Agreed. I would think if barriers are coming up we'd be talking a day or two. Would be a nice Friday present. Is it expected to take three weeks? Putting barriers up now seem premature if the stated time-line is accurate.
Dueling indictments? Diddle dee dee dee teeAgreed. I would think if barriers are coming up we'd be talking a day or two. Would be a nice Friday present.
Does barriers indicate she will indict him? If she said no, would there be a need for barricades?I think the race is on. Federal Grand jury meeting in Washington, while the Georgia DA has cleared the dockets at the courthouse for the first three weeks of August.

Yep.Does barriers indicate she will indict him?
Look like for traffic. I just saw on tv they had that and then chain link fence behind it on a building under construction. This is weird. I've been watching WSB TV action news (local Atlanta station) since 4:15 and have not heard one word about these barricades, but they went up! They're kinda silly looking; not even as tall as a fire hydrant.
There's online articles about it, but NO tv news...wonder if they're trying to downplay it to keep the crazies out of the city.....
I can't see any other reason for these ugly things, honestly, I wish they would stop F*****G around and just do it already! APD is ready for any assholes who want to do violent stuff.Yep.
This is probably to throw off potential MAGA assaulters making plans on a 'given day' to set up positions for a possible assault on Courthouse property. These barricades signals that anytime now, DJT will be charged - giving law enforcement time to watch for unusual activity and track the subjects in question. Is it expected to take three weeks? Those barricades are to keep anyone from ramming into the building with a truck full of explosives. In some cities they're concrete grey, which doesn't look so awful, but I'm sure many a fender got pleated on them, too. This is weird. I haven't heard anything about this. I checked with 11ALIVE, WSB2, Fox5, nothing on this at all this AM. Seems the local news stations should have something on this. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.I think the race is on. The old rope-a-dope!This is probably to throw off potential MAGA assaulters making plans on a 'given day' to set up positions for a possible assault on Courthouse property. A few day ago, it appeared that August 1 was going to be when the indictment would drop. Now, I think that maybe this was 'leaked out'' to trick MAGA subjects into putting any potential plan into motion to prevent any court action being interrupted later on. imo
Yup, let the MAGA POS riot, we'll put them down just like we did on 1/6.I can't see any other reason for these ugly things, honestly, I wish they would stop F*****G around and just do it already! APD is ready for any assholes who want to do violent stuff.
