I quit voting for Republicans when Bush invaded Iraq, but Bush was responsible for a number of good things that happened during his administration. His biggest flaw was allowing himself to be sucked in by the Neocons, but I give him credit for kicking the Neocons to the curb towards the end of his administration. When Bush jokes about Trump making his administration looking good, I don't believe that he is just joking.

Yes, I do. I didn't agree with you on some things, but you were not insane.

Trump beats Bush because he hasn't had anyone killed in battle or tortured...yet.

Not sure what you think Bush did right??? Perhaps how he did nothing while the financial system was in the midst of blowing up. As to Iraq you blame others, I say he wanted to finish what he thought was his dad's mistake.

I really thought that democrats would win the presidency for a generation once that dope left office. If he wasn't followed by another clown I still think I would have been right.

You might think that standing up for American workers, who were once middle class and now are Wal Mart greeters is horrible, many do not agree with you.

Many longed for GW when BO was elected. Why should this be different? The only issue I have with this is that GW behaved like the gentleman I thought he was. Gotta reconsider.

Two disastrous foreign wars that cost us close to $2 trillion, gross expansion in the cost of living, whether in housing or medical bills or school tuition, and bailing out the banks to the tune of $700 billion. What am I supposed to like?

Trump didn't have 9/11. Can you imagine if Trump were president after 9/11? Mulsims would probably be killed in the streets. Maybe we would have nuked Afghanistan.

If we have a major crisis like 9/11 and Trump is in office, who knows what could happen? I pray we never find out.

But yes, Trump does make Bush look good. Bush is no longer the worst president we ever had. Trump has shattered all expectations of what a bad president would be like.

Bush lied (along with Powell & others) & people died. And for what? When our troops got to Baghdad the only building that they were tasked to protect was the Oil Ministry. Screw the museums across the street that were being looted of priceless antiquities.

IMO there really is no difference between GW Bush & Trump; two megalomaniacs doing the bidding of Satanic nature

also, if there really is a Heaven & a Hell, I'm fairly confident that both GW & Trump will be gracing the confines of Hell, directing an enormous choir in an eternal rendition of 'FIRE' ................

George Bush of the 'lets help those less fortunate around the world before we help Americans' Bush family? He and his Republican cohorts cost the US billions of dollars trying to place democracies in Iraq and Afghanistan. George Bush. Nah. I'm not going to miss him any time soon nor do I think much of his criticisms of Trump.

Yea, he talked a good game about that, but like most grifters, talk and action are mutually exclusive.

It's funny to see some of the Republican Trump fanatics on this thread pretend like they never supported Bush in the past. Everyone knows they voted for Bush twice, and supported him throughout his presidency. But now that Bush is no longer president, and they have another Republican president to worship, they have abandoned Bush because Bush DARED to speak negative of their current Republican messiah.

The same thing will happen to Trump, BTW. Once he is gone from office, they will abandon him for the next Republican president.

As much as trump sucks, it still doesn't erase the fact that Bush broke the Middle East and bogged us down in a war that ultimately cost trillions of dollars and resulted in the rise of ISIS. He also created the headache that is Gitmo and brought torture back into normal use. And of course he oversaw the biggest financial meltdown in modern history. And lest any forget, he's the guy that had "free speech zones," which even Trump hasn't stooped to doing. No, George, it's going to take considerably more to make you look good by comparison.

Bush 2 did a good job. Trump needs to show better stability and certainly, as well as display some better leadership.

The preventing of the spread of terror and terrorist organizations.

Yeah, no. The larger portion of that responsibility falls onto Obama.

I voted for W Bush twice, and I'm not the least bit apologetic about that. I didn't agree with everything he did, but I don't agree with any politician 100% of the time.

To your point in this post, you noticed that too, huh? You know why all of a sudden these Trump devotees pretend they didn't like W and talk about what a sham the Iraq War was? Because that was one of their hero's talking/attack points in the primaries against Jeb Bush. And because Trump's devoted fan base dutifully thinks as he instructs them too, just like with McCain, they obediently follow Trump's talking points, and now consider W to be persona non grata.

Amazing, isn't it?

First it would be interesting to know what you consider constitutes a person being part of the middle-class. Wonder if you think that making corporate taxes competitive with the rest of the developed world helps or hurts companies decide to produce in America. Also would ask if you believe we have been in a trade war for the last two decades, just one we did not fight back.

Reasonable people can disagree on the above. But there are legitimate arguments to be made on both sides.

So if you want to have a debate free of slogans and insults, great.

So you want me to ignore the spread of terror and terrorist organizations that occurred in the wake of the war on terror?

Yeah, no. The larger portion of that responsibility falls onto Obama.

Iraq is a sovereign nation. Bush wanted Iraq to be a democratic country. Bush made an agreement with a free democratic Iraq that we would leave by a certain date. That date came, we tried to come to an agreement about some contingency force but the Iraqis would not agree. Why? Because they were now a democracy and ordinary Iraqi voters didn't want us there.

So, the blame for the mess is completely on Bush and the hawkish Republicans.

You believe what you want.

Like Dick Cheney. He never apologized to that guy he shot in the face & still wants his bird shot back.

I don't miss George Bush but I will say this, trump does make W look like a freggin' Mensa candidate by comparison.

Trump needs to get his head out of his a** & stop committing treason with the way he sucks up to Putin to the detriment & peril of our country.
