wow...what do people want eh?
wow...what do people want eh?
Well, as sad as it may sound, some of them may be actually waiting to be told what they want.

Americans on the whole are ignorant and uninformed. When asked questions like this, few can identify what it is they like or dislike. It is more a reflection of the information they get bombarded with on TV and in the mainstream news papers.
They naturally prefer Democrats because of the perception that "they care."
We all want to feel good about ourselves. Who is going to support a party that has been labeled homophobe, racist, the party of religious fanatics and uncaring?
Perhaps someday Americans will actually start to be educated and become more informed; but I won’t hold my breath with Liberals in the Education field and our mainstream media holding sway.
I think it's telling when you explain your losses by insulting the American people. Telling, and quite sad.
Logan's Law: the worst thing that can happen to Republicans is to get into power.
I believe that most American wish to be children, or serfs, for their entire lives.Real Clear Politics - News - Elections 2008 - Opinion - Commentary - TIME

Right, 'coz Democrats are and always have been champions of truth and light.
Among the bedtime stories Democrats don't tell their children are these little nuggets:
It was a Democrat who penned Dred Scott.
It was Democrats who opposed the abolition of slavery.
It was Democrats who seceded from the Union, tore apart the country, and caused the Civil War.
It was Democrats who enacted Jim Crow, founded the KKK, and imposed segregation.
It was a Democrat who pushed us into World War I, started a uniformed, proto-fascist “civilian corps,” criminalized dissent, and imprisoned protestors of WWI.
It was a Democrat GOD who interred dozens of thousands of Japanese, German, and Italian US citizens during WWII, with no due process or Habeas Corpus, and it was his successor, a Democrat demigod in his own right, who kept Germans interred for several years after the war.
It was a Democrat who, as legend has it, lied to get us into Vietnam, escalated it greatly and imposed a wide draft, and expanded into neighboring countries (illegally).
It was Democrats, chiefly another of their gods, RFK, who wiretapped with abandon all sorts of people in the '60s, including MLK, Jr.
It was Democrats who, in larger numbers and percentages of their caucus than the evil Republicans, who opposed and voted against the Civil Rights and Voting Rights acts.
It was a Democrat who instituted “don’t ask, don’t tell.”
It was a Democrat who bypassed the UN and became the first President to unquestionably, overtly start a war. And it was with a nation that was absolutely no threat to us and had not attacked any of its neighbors.
And, of course, relevant to current times, it was Democrats who thought forcing banks to give loans to people whose credit history and income levels demonstrated that they wouldn't/couldn't pay them back was a great idea, so great that they opposed regulation of it -- and the secondary markets created by the scheme -- when it started to look like it might be a problem.
Yeah, Democrats should have absolute power, all the time.
In regard to Jim Crow and slavery, the Democrats used to be the party of the South. When Lyndon Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act, the "Dixiecrats", as they were called, became Republicans, all except for a very few
That explains why the Republican party has been reduced to a regional party with the South as its base.
