By a 21-point margin, voters oppose the federal budget legislation passed by the House of Representatives that the president calls the "One Big Beautiful Bill" (38% favor vs. 59% oppose). About half think the bill would hurt their family (49%),
economic sentiment is mostly gloomy: 84% are extremely or very concerned about inflation, 68% score conditions as only fair or poor, and 55% feel pessimistic about the economy.

I was alerted to this poll by headlines of Trump attacking Fox News' latest poll. After finding little about the poll in the general media, I decided to go to the source - Fox News.

It seems Fox is doing its best to bury the poll, while attempting to present it in the best possible light. But don't let that lead you astray. Trump has good reason to not like his current polling.

Trump is a bad person, willing to do bad things if they are in his self-interest. His self interests are money, power and staying out of prison.

Perhaps some folks are finally figuring that out. That makes them a bit tardy to the finish line, but as long as they get there…

Trump needs some wins. Unfortunately he seems intent on going down the same unpopular paths he is on. He is unable/incapable of articulating a plan and executing it. Nobody has a clue what his plan is for tariffs, foreign policy, deportations etc. Trumpers say that is his strategy, to keep people guessing , well it's working....nobody has a clue including him. They really have been dupted.

This is the second poll I've seen expressing significant disapproval of the BBB. 27 % of Republicans is as significant number.

I'm sure Kamala Harris having higher approval than he, doesn't help The Donald's mood.

I'm surprised Immigration has fallen significantly in importance ranking.

now that RW media isn't flogging the issue of immigrant terrorists/rapists/child molesters 24x7 attention is moving elsewhere.

Harris won the poll for favorable ratings, and Musk 'won' for unfavorable.

Perhaps Trump not saying anything about it for a week has helped.

I think that is related to deportations

Trump often proposes vague obfuscated high-level overarching ideas that have reasonable support.

Then when he executes, the country - even those that supported him - hates what he's doing.

Wow, it really blasts Biden:

positive ratings of the economy have inched up from 21% in March to 28% in April to 31% in the latest Fox News survey, which is about where things stood at the end of the Biden administration in January. During the previous four years, that number was higher than the current rating only once, when it hit 32% in June 2024. For reference, at the end of the first Trump administration, 33% gave economic conditions positive marks.

Currently, 62% say their family is getting ahead (14%) or holding steady financially (48%), up 5 points since January. The 36% who say they are falling behind is the lowest in four years.

It's all Fox has. They're reaching for straws, trying to put lipstick on a pig.
I'm not sure their point? Positive ratings fell during Biden's term, and are now inching up under Trump?

Is that correct?

And people feel pessimistic about the economy, but that number is trending down slowly since Biden left? Is that what the data shows?

They're trying to blunt Trump's dismal overall numbers, by comparing them to Biden's exit numbers on the economy (which got Biden thrown out of Office).

The numbers are terrible, but they are rising, yes? And thus higher than Biden, which is why he was a one and done president.

I'm just making sure I'm not misreading the data. Thanks for the response.

There is no best possible light for this poll. What I find strange is the right loves the job on border security but do not approve of his job on immigration once again showing me they have no idea of what they like or dislike.

April he was 44 approved 55 disapprove
Today's poll is within the margin of error, so statistically you can't say it is rising

faux is propaganda.

I'm not sure what you're trying to prove here, and what is the relevance of Biden?

The headline claims in one number, economics, Trump may have a slight recension, but it's still a terrible number. 32%?

And that's the best Fox could come-up with to put lipstick on the pig, as besides one facet of Immigration (border security) he is being thoroughly rebuked by the American Public.

It's an absolutely terrible poll, and can't be argued otherwise.
