It just started (5:00P EST) on Fox Business Network.

The junior varsity debate will feature NJ Gov Christie, former Arkansas Gov Huckabee, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum.

I'm watching it because I'm a bit of a fan of the gov from NJ, and thought he should be on the main stage - but he's not; so I'll watch him here, while I'm also keeping an eye on the pure Evangelical play too. (Gov Huckabee)

With that in mind, I decided to start a thread.

Huckabee has caught my attention in a positive way in the debates thus far. And i am not a very religious person. Im catholic however

Interesting that right out of the box Gov's Huckabee & Christie are fully supporting and protecting "entitlements" (defined by them as SS & Medicare).

Im (not the best) Catholic too, but I'm watching Gov Huckabee more to keep an eye on what's going-on in the Evangelical wing of the party, rather than my liking him. He represents an important component of the Republican Party - more purely than the other Evangelical candidates, I believe (though Sen Sanatorium is a similar play, but not as skillful or eloquent IMO)

I wouldn't ever vote for him, or any Republican, but i think he has a chance of winning the nomination. He has a history of talking back to audience members and I think people like that in him.

Hah!

Christie claims if China continues cyber-warfare, he'll cyber-warfare them back by injecting information from the free-world into their closed propagandized system!

Not sure if that's possible, but I like it!

Christie?

Huckabee said ss is paid for by the people, he is right. Its not an entitlement unless you paid for it. However, i think for younger citizens it should be optional, as should the deduction

Jindal has a point about reducing the size if gov. As he does about skin in the game

I have no real issue with their defining "entitlement" as only those one has earned. I wanted to make sure my post was above clear, since many people also consider welfare & other programs "entitlements", too.

Welfare, medicare, and other stuff are entitlements

Why did you feel the need to qualify this?

Yes.. Sorry about that.
Well, if you haven't seen this yet, check it out and tell me if you have any doubts that this guy, Republican or not, can play in the Indie or Dem markets!

Now over, it was a pretty decent and substantive debate.

I think Gov Christie stood above the others, and Gov Huckabee was very much eloquent and on tonight, too. I'd like them both back on the mainstage.

Sen Santorum was O.K., with a positive moment or two.

Sen Jindal just plain sucks.

While informative, it was lacking a bit in "pizazz" & "excitement" without the big dogs from the mainstage.

FBN did O.K. - I predict a substantive, on-topic, and informative debate coming-up in the big-tent!

Why did you feel the need to ask me this?

Because everyone already knows you're an extremist liberal. What's your point in saying you wouldn't vote a Republican?

singer sux
hope that is not an omen

I'm not sure I had a point by saying it, I just said it because it is true. The next president will have the chance of nominating Supreme Court justices in the next 4-8 years, so that is a BIG reason I will not vote for a Republican.

Why do you care? And what is an extremist liberal?
