yea, this news really makes me feel my age
as a very young kid, the walt disney program was IT for me, a TV addict. went from mouse ears to davey crockett coonskin cap
Annette was obviously special among a cast of talented mouseketeers
Shelly Fabres, her best friend, displaced her as my pre-teen love interest over time
but these gals set the bar for the women i would look for once i became of age
thanks for the many, many fond memories, Annette Funicello. rest in peace

We really never are going to get Lindsay Lohan out of our lives are we?

There is no comparison between Annette Funicello and the most likely new member of the 27 Club. Annette was the idol of little girls everywhere, and although she never saw herself as a singer, she did have several hits back in her day.

More important, when her husband cheated on her, she said nothing and behaved like a lady, and when she was diagnosed with MS, she kept that private too until persuaded to speak publicly to help others.

Just to be clear, if Annette Funicello is a celeb from your youth, you aren't getting old, you are old. If Kurt Cobain was a celeb from your youth you're getting old. :2razz:

that was for an infant. infant mortality and childhood disease killed many, lowering the average. IF you made it to age 10, your life expectancy jumped to 58

Depends on what you consider old. Just because the body may be there, doesn't mean the mind isn't intact and still feeling youthful. It helps to spend a lot of time around younger people and doing a lot of laughing.

Depends on whether you survive to old age. It's a crap shoot. Make the best of it. Don't be afraid to make a fool out of yourself. But first you need a sense of humor. Purchase one. LOLOLOLOL!
