Thoughts on the lawsuit are?No longer a purely partisan battle, the notion of expanding Medicaid has divided Republicans in Florida’s Legislature. The more conservative House of Representatives fiercely opposes the move. The Florida Senate, along with most hospitals, supports the idea and has already approved a private-sector version of Medicaid expansion. It wants to try to salvage the $50 billion in federal funds it would receive over the next decade that come with expansion and find a way to help hospitals recoup their costs.
The showdown in Florida is one of many playing out across the country as Republican governors grapple with whether, or how, to expand Medicaid. Ten states with Republican governors have decided to expand the program, like Indiana. But others have run afoul of Legislatures or backed off the plan.

The best part about this is that Florida would receive more aid if they simply expanded Medicaid.. But guess what Governor Scott, we live in a system of government called federalism, and in that system the federal government can withhold/cut funds from the lower levels of government if they see the need. Looks like you are on the wrong side of that coin..

yep because if he expands Medicaid then FL will need a state income tax to pay for the difference as it will add billions to the state Medicaid rolls.
I like not having to pay state income tax.
....another governor screwing over the interests of his citizens in the interest of protecting an ill-thought out personal political ideology.... in the words of Christ, "...forgive them, for they know not what they do...."
Which equates too how much, exactly, for the state and from where is the money supposed to come? Actually, don't answer the second part unless your answer is something other than 'the rich.'You do realize the cost is essentially all covered by the federal government? The states have to pick up around 2% of the cost...

Sales tax, reshuffling of funds, property tax, sin tax. Dont have to create an income tax to cover it. I mean ****, Rick Scott is prancing around touting his "budget surplus"...Which equates too how much, exactly, for the state and from where is the money supposed to come? that is what they say but the devil is in the detail and when you look at the details well the deal doesn't become all that great anymore.
no they get hit with more than 2% of the costs, but then again you only believe what you are told.

that has nothing to do with federalism.
:lamo Uhh yes it does.
while the Medicaid expansion looks good on paper and was parroted as that it really isn't a great deal for states.Alright.. Care to back up your claim?
really??....expalin federalism...and tell where money comes into play.
Do you seriously not understand how state and federal programs work with each other? Do you really need to go back to middle school government class? You cant be this dull..

you have not a clue of what you are talking about, not a clue......explain federalism.....this is the second time i have asked.
No its way beyond the "paper stage" now..while the Medicaid expansion looks good on paper and was parroted as that it really isn't a great deal for states.
No.... Its the program as a whole... Not just new, not just old, the whole entire program.ol states only have to pay a max of 10%. that is of the new people that meet the requirements.
if a person signs up for Medicaid and they would have qualified for the old system then they get put under the old system and the state still has to pay the old rate.
Again. No. The federal government covers the portion indicated of the program as a whole....so if you have 1m people sign up and 50+% of them would have qualified under the old Medicaid system that is a massive expense to the state.
the states that expanded Medicaid are running into this very issue. they are seeing large enrollments of people and quite a few of them qualify under the
old system which is not covered by federal dollars.
also the whole 10% thing doesn't cover old enrollee's just new ones.
overall it was a horrible deal for states. yet it was passed off as this great thing just another lie from the Obama administration.
just another massive transfer of wealth.
Interesting, but one could easily say that Obamacare is the result of a president screwing over the interests of his citizens in the interest of protecting an ill-thought out personal political ideology.
