Five Cuban rafters die at sea in attempt to leave country

How many more boats like the "13 de Marzo" tugboat, and the riverboat "XX Aniversario” the Castroit military regime has sank in the last 59 years, sending to their death many innocent children, men and women? How many massacres like the Cuban-Chinese aboard the yacht “Pretext”? Like the icebergs, where only ten per cent of the mass is visible above the water surface, the rest below the surface isn’t. The same happens with these mass murders of innocent people, where only ten per cent is of common knowledge, the rest below the surface isn’t known up to now.

One thing that is unavoidable is change, and when it happens will not be possible to forgive and pardon. It is absolutely necessary to judge and condemn the crimes perpetrated by the high-ranking officials of Castroit tyrannical regime. ¡Justice must be done!

Obama decision to repeal the executive policy of “Wet Foot/Dry Foot”, require that Cubans who attempt to enter the U.S. illegally shall be sent back to the island. He said, “We are treating Cuban migrants the same way we treat migrants from other countries.” The problem is that his new executive policy doesn’t differentiate between migrants and refugees. Migrants shall be sent back, they do not deserve special treatment. Refugees shall be provided with asylum, but they must prove they face political, religious or other type of persecution in their homeland. That was how they were treated before the wet food/dry foot policy.

Many of the Cubans that have arrived to the U.S., are economic migrants, not political refugees. The Cuban Adjustment Act does not need to be totally eliminated. It needs to be updated, requiring that only those that are political refugees will benefit from it.

The outraged of the lefties with regard to President Trump Executive Orders on immigration, exhibit and staggering hypocrisy. When President Obama, in the last week of his term issued a similar Executive Orders on immigration singling out Cubans, not for a short period of time but a permanent one, closing the door to refugees and stranded thousands of them, the lefties did not conducted massive streets protests. Their double standard is very visible in this case.

Where is the support for Cuban refugees from the left, where is their outpouring of rage for their detention at the airports? Give me a break!

In April 2017, the U.S. Coast Guard reported that it did not intercept Cuban refugees in the Florida Straits. Seem that Cubans escaping on makeshift rafts has come to an end after Obama unilaterally repeal the executive policy known as “Wet Foot/Dry Foot.” In May, surprise, surprise, Cubans resumed fleeing attempting to reach U.S. soil through the strait of Florida. Their desperation and urgency to escape from the Castroit tyrannical regime outweigh the high risk of perishing in the sea, been intercepted at sea or caught on land, hopping to reach and stay in the U.S. as illegal immigrants.

The only hope these rafters have to stay in the U.S. is to prove they will be persecuted if sent back to Cuba because of their political and religious activities, and ask for political asylum and obtain refugees status, instead of being considered economic migrants and sent back to the island.

Since the end of the “wet foot, dry foot”, the number rafters intercepted at sea has declined by 71 percent. The rafter that reach U.S. soil can apply for asylum and would be detained in immigration centers until their cases are resolved.

According to the far left the island is a socialist paradise, where education, housing and healthcare are free. Why is the reason that in spite of the termination of the “wet foot, dry foot” policy, Cubans rafters continuous fleeing from the island paradise attempting to reach U.S. soil through the strait of Florida? Are they masochists? Or simple life in the island of Dr. Castro is hell.

That's why I advised some people in Cuba if they come to the US, make sure they get a politically motivated criminal record AND get a copy of that record. It's a careful balancing act to get into trouble, but not too much trouble.

Again the backdrop of the Castros tyranny “reforms” greeted by the mainstream media, Cubans continue to risk their lives to escape from workers paradise. Five more victims of the Castro brothers, the cause of this tragedy.

At least for them all they have to do is set foot on US soil and they are be welcomed with open arms, unlike those coming from Central America.

Why these Cuban rafters would want to leave the paradise Michael Moore described? Why in the world would they want to leave the island paradise that Beyonce and JayZ just visited?

Are you utilizing two vapid empty headed entertainers and a documentary filmmaker in an attempt to paint a picture of universal Dem support of the Castro regime?
Nice.

PS: Moore's visit to Cuba was strictly about health care.
His point was, if a failed banana republic like Cuba can show compassion for the sick, so can we, nothing more.
Your published accounts, wherever they're coming from, about Cuba, are informative and interesting. Perhaps you could just stick to providing that instead of making lame attempts to paint Democrats as Castro lovers.
What's next, some McCarthyism for giggles?

Has the Great Conservative Savior Herr Trump restored the wet-foot/dry foot provision yet?
Wanna bet he doesn't?
Wanna bet the current rabid foaming at the mouth ultra-nationalists will push to incarcerate ALL Cuban refugees in those nice cages?

In an effort to get more concessions from Raul, Obama suspended the wet foot/dry foot policy.
Personally I think it might have been a dumb move, and I wonder why Mr. Trump hasn't scored some points by restoring it.
Think of how much the anti-Castro folks in Florida would love it.

Well, yes they have to prove their refugee status. I doubted the regime will provide them with that type of record

After Obama unilaterally repeal Clinton executive policy known as “Wet Foot/Dry Foot”, Cubans caught illegally reaching U.S. soil would be sent back to Cuba unless they can prove their refugee status, which is difficult to prove for many of them.

When people fall into insults is usually because there is nothing logical left to say. The U.S. has a long history of providing asylum to those that cannot go back to their country for fear of persecution base on political, religious and other causes. There is no reason for Trump to restore the “wet foot/ dry foot” policy. All migrants trying to enter the U.S. illegally shall be sent back to their country of origin, they do not deserve special treatment. Refugees of course shall be provided with asylum, but they must prove their case to deserve refugee status according to U.S. laws.

Notwithstanding the fact that the U.S. government does not grant automatic asylum to Cubans rafters, in May 2018 twenty six Cuban rafters were interdicted in Bahamian waters, and if they cannot proof asylum status, will be sent back to the island of Dr. Castro.

How is possible that with the implementation of the regime so call “new reforms”, so many Cubans continuous to risk their lives in the sharks infested water of the Gulf of Mexico? Are they masochists?, or just that they prefer dangerous freedom to peaceful slavery.

The 29 Cubans rafters who tried to reach the U.S. land are desperate enough to risk their lives, even with a minimal prospect of being granted asylum since the Obama administration took away the automatic asylum to Cubans rafters that reached U.S. soil. Against all hope they keep fleeing the paradise island of Dr. Castro.

Despite Barack Obama’s decision, in January of 2017, to end the wet foot/dry foot policy, Cubans keep arriving to the U.S. by unseaworthy rustic rafts, a risky and dangerous trip. Around 144 Cubans rafters have arrived illegally to the U.S. since October 1, 2017, the start of the new fiscal year.

How lucky they are to be alive, trying in a desperate attempt to escape in a dinghy boat. I am glad they are alive. Optimistically the investigation will take into consideration the special condition of the Cubans rafters and allow them to remain in U.S. soil, granting them asylum for their desperate attempt to escape.

. They can apply for political asylum, but virtually all are rejected and flown back to Cuba. Most of them arrive to the Cayman Islands due to the fact that their boats need repairs to be seaworthy not to ask for asylum. Some have been detained for more than two years with no resolution.

The fact that many Cubans continuous to risk their lives trying to escape on rickety rafts, is a testament to the failures of the Castroit totalitarian regime. This will end when freedom and democracy are established again and the Cuban people will not have to risk their lives at sea to leave the island.

According to Progressives the economic reforms, new “president” and new constitution are improving the lives of Cubans so much that Cuba is a great place to live now. Why then Cubans, continues to escape in dinghy rustic rafts risking their lives? Young people, the nation’s future, are leaving Cuba discontent with a bleak future. Many athletes, artists, medical doctors and scientists have deserted while working abroad, despite the reforms, in search of a batter future.
