The Constitution has not become meaningless! A few have tried to pretend it is, but it's still there as a guide on why and how this country was founded. It's comforting to me to know that Mitch McConnell, Majority Leader in the Senate now, has often let it be known that he believes that the Constitution is a living document, not a rough draft to be changed at someone's whim! :thumbs:

Two Bosnian immigrants who have resided in Illinois are among six in the U.S. who have been charged with sending money, weapons and other supplies to terrorists oversees, including fighters with the Islamic State group and al-Qaida in Iraq, the U.S. attorney’s office announced Friday. The suspects are identified as Mediha Medy Salkicevic, 34, of Schiller Park, a Chicago suburb; and Jasminka Ramic, 42, of Rockford; Ramiz Zijad Hodzic, 40, his wife Sedina Unkic Hodzic, 35, and Armin Harcevic, 37, who live in St. Louis County, Missouri; and Nihad Rosic, 26, of Utica, New York.
The indictment alleges the conspiracy began no later than May 2013 and that the defendants used social media websites including Facebook to communicate in code. All six people who are charged are natives of Bosnia who were living in the U.S. legally. Three are naturalized citizens; the other three either had refugee or legal resident status, according to the U.S. attorney’s office. All face charges of conspiring to provide material support and resources to terrorists and with providing material support to terrorists. Rosic and Ramiz Hodzic are also charged with conspiring to kill and maim people in a foreign country......snip~

Who is it that you see that war has been launched against? When you think of those pooor widdle innocent victims stashed away at GITMO, which country do we negotiate with? Which country do we seek political reconciliation with? The story that spawns your response has 6 people arrested for supporting terrorist activities around the world. That has you somehow outraged. I find that amazing. The enemy which you feel is treated unfairly just torched a man to death in a cage for all the world to see. Of course...the barbarity is just the next level and thats really all that has people shocked. We ARE talking about an enemy that chants glory to their God while they slowly chop peoples heads in the most painful and gruesome manner. I suppose we should treat them more humanly in return. We should 'negotiate' more. Negotiate with people that have butchered men, women, and children across the planet all in the glorious name of Allah.That is THE question of the decade...
I sure as hell don't know. Here, I am seen as an American, I think American civil rights, fought for them there and fought for them here. I loved America when I lived there, even with a Vietnam war raging...in part because the constitution allowed us that right to throw tear gas back at the National guard.
Then, I had issues about Vietnam, the leadership was not so evil as misguided..
Today I see a concentration camp on US soil and the excuse they aren't in the US so they are not protected by the constitution. I see a trampling of protest even verbal, where the war of words between Americans has stalled a nation into collapse.
I see a war launched 15 years ago to avenge the deaths of 3500 Americans that has no end in sight, a war that was spread to Iraq with the consent of both parties, one of whom denies that now.
I see a proud country with reason to be proud, now destroying itself from within with attacks on other Americans for the fact they are doing the job they were elected to do; I see invented issues to prolong and provoke more war as Obama waves red flags about :amnesty:" at his "enemies". I see a country more concerned with destroying political opponents than the Islamic Radicals who behead and burn to death their enemies...
I see a president waxing about definitions while one war has spread to seven with lost ground where he had warred before and an administration more concerned about the crusades, slavery and what to call the real enemy.
America used to stand for "right" as in they didn't torture, didn't suppress the constitution even when it meant a president was going down for being a crook. America used to mean that the easy way was not the right way, and things like the New York Times publishing the Pentagon papers was so constitutional now **** off!
Today I have no idea what she stands for, am at sea as to what to expect from a president who attacks "Canadian Oil" when the nation is dependent on it, and no idea what to expect when a cop shoots someone or there is evidence of corruption, only that it will NOT be an independent investigator.
America used to be Canada's best friend and the reverse, today I am not sure about that at all and have repeatedly advised my government to remain arms length in all dealings especially the war on terror.
I do know that that beautiful document, that legal work of art called the United States Constitution that I had drilled into me by grey haired, right wing teachers, has become meaningless.

The Bosnians did choose to involve Islamic extremists in their war during the 1990's. We did not!

If he is successful then I would say it has been a "restoration" of that beautiful legal work of art. Under Obama and the socialists, it is meaningless; they know who you phone, email and can scoop you from home on a verbal report. The president can wage war without so much as mentioning it to congress and make thousands of illegal, with the stroke of his little phallic symbol.

The USA led NATO campaign helped end the ethnic cleansing carried out from Serbs in Bosnia. On such grounds Bosnians should have been allies to USA just like Dardania is.
So why this sudden backstab to USA I wonder?

But Dardania aside, these Bosnians are accused of sending money to Turkiye and Saudi Arabia. There is no crime in that much I gather?
The crime is that the ones that they sent money to in Turkiye and Saudi Arabia choose to send the Bosnian money to ISIS terrorists. I am so caught in that Bosnians should have been US allies that I think maybe these Bosnians are victims and did not knew that the money was going to ISIS perhaps?
