Federal appeals court says Trump unlawfully invoked the Alien Enemies Act for deportations

If an organization is coming into the US taking over buildings and stymied law enforcement, while preying on citizens with violence, drugs, and illegal weapons, while being illegal immigrants---that seems to be a predatory incursion to me

This is isn’t happening and no matter how many times Trump or Fox News lies about it and no matter how much you hate Latin Americans, this lie you guys are spreading, doesn’t become more true.

This immigrants you hate so much are just normal people looking for a job. That’s it. It’s not more complicated than that.

And here’s the ugly truth. This lie being spread by the Trump administration to deny people who have no criminal record and who aren’t members of a gang their due process rights to send them to a foreign prisoners where they will be beaten and sexually abused. That is really ****ed up. That’s unamerican, and I don’t know how Republicans can look at themselves in the mirror. Trump and his supporters are happy with violating the Constitution to deprive people of their individual rights. It’s a violation of our traditional values and principles.

If you want to deport them fine, but do it the right way, consistent with the law and our values.

This is Trump's solution to the problem. What's yours?

What problem? What are you talking about? Define the problem. Do you think there is some massive incursion of gang members? There isn’t. And if you think there is you’re the victim of anti-immigrant propaganda. propaganda intended to use immigrants as scapegoats, and you fell for it, hook, line, and sinker. So I reject the premise of your question entirely.

Assuming you’re talking about undocumented immigrants in general, and you’re just leaning on this propaganda about gangs as a means of making your case, and you’re really just talking about undocumented immigrants in general:

To begin with, the government, when it deports people, should refrain from violating federal law and violating the Constitution. And if this slows the process of deportation I don’t give a shit. And if it irritates Trump supporter that we are not immediately deporting hundreds of thousands or millions of immigrants. I don’t give a shit. Our constitution is more important than the hatred Trump supporters have for Latin Americans. End of story.

And if Trump supporters have got a problem with the constitution then theyre the problem, not the immigrants. Those immigrants haven’t tried to destroy the Constitutional order, Trump and his supporters have, they’ve done this through their support of a wannabe dictator. They are the threat to America, not the immigrants.

With respect to immigration policy, it doesn’t matter to me what the policy is compared to the basic structure of our government. I have my policy preferences, like vastly expanding a legal worker program. But I don’t think that’s where the fight is right now. Trump and his supporters and Republicans are no longer arguing about whether undocumented immigrants should be deported, they’re now arguing that Trump should be made a virtual dictator to solve the “problem”: and if that’s someone’s solution I would call that person a traitor to our country’s founding values.

The bottom line is it’s unconstitutional for the Trump admin to use the AEA as the basis for deporting people. And if you really loved America you wouldn’t support Trump violating the Constitution to achieve your political goals.

/yawn quit your yapping. If even one foreign person took over a building and started coercing tenants for money, selling drugs, and brandishing weapons, you would be all over it. How is it different when a criminal organization linked to Maduro does it?

Isn't happening? Please, get better sources.

i'm sure it "seems" to be that to you. Trump supporters will go to great mental gymnastics to justify his actions. Your description could justify this act for almost any situation involvingmore than one person, which doesn't make sense.

what is the solution? follow the law to deport illegals using the same methods we've used to deport illegals for many years.
And has made it worse for decades. What's the definition of insanity again?

Even if they are not acting on behalf of another country, they are acting in accordance with a larger organization that controls parts of another country.

It’s a RICO case at best.

Ask Trump and his failing tariffs; he's the expert in mental illness. His first term tariff stunt failed, and this repeated insanity is also failing. You should tell the simpleton you elected that tariffs aren't free money, as he appears to believe.

Your problem is that you consume propaganda from the sources that you watch. Fortunately, there is a simple solution: change the channel.

Aurora police chief says there's no evidence that Venezuelan gang took over apartment

Aurora police chief says there's no evidence that Venezuelan gang took over apartment. Video of gang members in an Aurora, Colo., apartment building had right wing media declaring the city's takeover by Venezuelan gangs. Police say that's hyperbole.

Your problem is you didn't read my source. San Antonio was the place in question.

My source was the local NBC affiliate.

Crime rates are going down, I don't see this crises that requires Trump's actions

Both the FBI and BJS data show dramatic declines in U.S. violent and property crime rates since the early 1990s, when crime spiked across much of the nation.

Using the FBI data, the violent crime rate fell 49% between 1993 and 2022
