Feb 13, 2016 - GOP Debate

The Right not blaming Bush for 911 is almost pathological.

They certainly are loath to even admit it happened on his watch - and that was the Trump point.

I know of nobody who blamed George Bush for 911 - and that includes me

Are you really going to try to claim you missed 9/11 Trutherism? FFS, Democrats put Michael Moore next to a former President of the United States at their convention .

As to the other charge...... So there were weapons of mass destruction that were found?

Thousands. We also found more banned missiles by counting the ones flying over our heads in a few days than the UN had found in the previous decade. What we didn't find was an active production program. Saddam wasn't building, but he was holding on to what he had.

Now ISIL has managed to pick up the pieces, reverse engineer the process, and is actively making them. Hooray. A genocidal group of mass murderers with the resources of a small state and the firm belief that Allah wants then to cleanse the world of unbelievers can make chemical weapons. That won't go badly at all.

I like to think I am as at least well informed 90% of Americans. But sadly, I do NOT speak rightwingese. Perhaps you can translate into common English?

Your "opinion" about weapons of mass destruction seems more fiction that fact. But to be brutally honest, I really don't give a crap. thats a manure field I do not want to wade in and frankly don't like the smell or the look of it.

Trump was right about Bush and 911 happening on his watch. Get over it. Don't. It matters not to be because it is fact just the same.

A lot of wasted time on Scalia’s passing, etc. It’s likely that the choice of a Supreme Court Justice will be stalled until the next POTUS is in office. In fact, Cruz has already promised to filibuster this.

The usual evasive and generalized answers thru out, esp. on Immigration, and they failed to answer the question posed to them directly. Trump repeated his ‘I’ll build a wall, etc.’ BUT this doesn’t guarantee that he won’t grant Illegals Amnesty.

Dr. C: He gave some good answers, esp. on “free” College. He was generally ignored by the Mods, as usual, and was not asked about Immigration at all, but he said to see his website on this issue. A fair performance, when included.

Bush: He gave a few good answers, but stuck w/ his usual, “successful Gov. experience” qualifies him for POTUS, etc. and for the most part, he acted like the bullied schoolboy. A fair performance.

Kasich: He gave some good answers, esp. on Dem support, but he was his usual mediocre self. He got more attention than usual, and a fairly good performance overall.

Rubio: He gave some good answers…I’m not sure why he thinks mentioning Nicki Haley on the Poverty issue will help him. He gave the best reply of the Debate, when he mentioned the Earned Income Credit for Parents. A fair performance overall…better than his last.

Cruz: His usual evasive self, he had a few good moments, but was mostly involved in petty arguments w/ Trump and Rubio. Not his best performance.

Trump: He had some good answers, but he was also mostly involved in petty arguments w/ the others. Not his best performance.

MODS: They were somewhat unorganized in their posing of questions, and they did a poor job of keeping the Candidates in line, and in keeping them from going over the time limits, etc. It seemed they were playing favorites, and spent more time w/ the top 3 or 4 Candidates. Too much petty arguing, and not enough discussing the issues at hand.

It was always strategic on Cruz's part. But now that time is past. Trump can't take people not sucking up to him, so the response-cycle quickly becomes nuclear.

Everyone who didn't have Jeb Bush manages to get under Trump's skin for a change, drink.

Kasich winning tonight a bit mostly because he's the least abused..... but he really should stop talking.

I agree, esp. w/ your last statement. Kasich was smart enough to stand clear of the petty BS.

Q: Donald Trump, when has someone ever told you "no"?

A: Hey look! Jeb Bush buys ads!

None of the rest can answer a direct question w/ a direct answer either.

Cruz wasn't the one who wrote the bull, so i don't know who you're calling a liar when Rubio is the one going "Oh i'm against immigration i'm against immigration".

His ass should have just joined the democrat party.

They're BOTH lying...and now the GOP's playing word-games on Immigration.

Illegals already have a degree of "Legal Status" here. They can launch a legal defense to stay, (as soon as they set foot in the US, NO thanks to the 2002 Supreme Court Ruling) and some states are giving them 'Non-Resident Driver's Permits' in place of actual Driver's Licenses....and without a scrap of paperwork needed to get one.

Have you seen the Trump Sanders comparison ads/memes/videos? Pretty strange and similar bedfellows.

I know right? It's remarkable that people who want us to scale back our foreign policy interventionism are incredibly popular among the people and not so much among the establishment. Meanwhile you've got clowns like JEB! and Hillary talking about starting WW3 to establish no fly zones in Syria. Cruz or maybe it was Rubio: corrected JEB! Bush whining about Putin attacking the "moderate rebels. ISIS has millions of dollars of American equipment that we sent to these "moderate Rebels". JEB! got taken to school by everyone tonight.

You both bring good points here.

Not to mention the over 648 Million worth, (a very conservative estimate) that the US gifted to Iraqi Army, (who, in one instance, then abandoned it and ran like hell when a much smaller ISIS force attacked them, in Ramadi).

Yes we know Bush was President during 9/11 Mr. Trump. If that's your point Haymarket I will leave it at that, but if that isn't your point, and your real point is that you agree with Trump that Bush specifically and purposefully made us unsafe because of terrorist actions. Well then, yes YOU are buying into Michael Moore's crap-fest. The President has little to no dealing with the terrorists who did. To think so otherwise is baloney. The fact that you keep saying, "well he was President when it happened." Means you don't really have any argument or any evidence to back up your point, whatever that really is. Because I have know idea why you keep on bringing it up, much like Trump does. You just like to blame Bush for something that was completely out of his control!

Did Jeb just say "he has the gull go after my mama." ....

Trump is getting booed, but he said he knows a lot of people in the audience and they are lobbyist. That is an awesome call out. It's interesting these debates have lobbyists in the audience booing and cheering.
Quite sadly, the lobbyists are the primary constituents; the voters are simply a group to hustle & pander!

But then some call me a cynic ...

I simply stated that Trump stated a simple truth and was booed for it.

No he stated a truth and then added lies upon lies on top of it. That's what he does best though. It's a basic Conspiracy Theorist debate tactic and I am frankly surprised that you are falling for it.

He's not, really. He's just enjoying the show of a GOP frontrunner saying this crap.

All I defended was his statement of truth regarding that 911 happened on the watch of President Bush. And the crowd booed that.
