Now shifting to state and local makes some sense, but it will just take one major outbreak of something nasty to show possible weakness in allowing each state to inspect.

People will die.

Food borne illness already kills thousands of people every year.

But the blood god demands a sacrifice, thousands more will die to help billionaires cut more corners.

The really weird part of shit like this- billionaires will be fed contaminated food, too.

And you think in red states they are going to fund this stuff? And even if they do all it takes is one outbreak to spread across borders.

Expect to see nation wide outbreaks of any of the following.
Contaminated food can cause a wide variety of diseases, including those caused by bacteria, viruses, parasites, toxins, and even metals or prions. Some of the most common foodborne illnesses include salmonellosis, listeriosis, E. coli infections, Campylobacteriosis, Norovirus infections, and botulism. Symptoms can range from mild gastroenteritis to severe, life-threatening complications.

I'm sure the food industry will rise to the challenge of self regulation. They can look to Boeing for guidance.
