FBI leadership is starting an investigation into the origins of the agency’s plan a decade ago to infiltrate the campaign of presidential candidate Donald Trump using two female undercover “honeypot” agents.

The off-the-books investigation, launched in 2015 by FBI Director James B. Comey, was revealed by an agency whistleblower in a protected disclosure to the House Judiciary Committee last year and first reported exclusively by The Washington Times in October. In the intelligence community, a honeypot commonly refers to an undercover operative, usually a woman, who feigns sexual or romantic interest to obtain information from a target.

The whistleblower said two female FBI undercover employees infiltrated Mr. Trump’s 2016 campaign at high levels and were directed to act as “honeypots” while traveling with Mr. Trump and his campaign staff. The Times has learned that the bureau, now led by Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino, is looking for those once-undercover employees under Mr. Comey’s direction.

Kash didn't take long to start digging into Russiagate. I'm ready for them to expose it all.

The long arm of trump retribution.....

It's not enough that Comey effectively scuttled Clinton's chances with his late-October "surprise" investigation that turned up nothing.....

LOL....the Republican House committee report isn't exactly credible evidence, but, hey, why not waste taxpayers' monies on this? It's not as if the musk-trump-vance triumvirate is interested in governing.....

Don't forget the BLM riots of 2020 if you are THIS excited about something that happened years ago. JAYSUS, something tells me we need a deflection from rising inflation.

Don't hold your breath. It was a righteous investigation. There were hundreds of relationships and contacts between the Trump campaign and Russia and Russian oligarchs in 2016.

To not have investigated would have been malfeasance. But, if you want a show, then sit back and expect nothing.

If Comey did nothing wrong, he has nothing to worry about right?

If it's true that FBI Director Comey ran an off the books honeypot operation against the Trump campaign that would be illegal right?

Yeah why would anyone wonder if the FBI ran an illegal operation against a Presidential campaign?

Sure, put all your energy into investigating some old grievance from years ago, but you still failed to answer.................

You didn't respond to my comment either............

Oh, so, it's okay, to you, for the state to use its power and authority to investigate anyone it pleases?

It's not okay with me, even when the target of the musk-trump-vance authoritarian state is Comey. And it shouldn't be with you, either.

There's no evidence. This is simply part of trump's revenge tour.

AND more wasting of taxpayers' funds on trump's going after Americans who didn't / don't express total loyalty and subservience to him.

I don't support weaponizing the DOJ against Americans. No Americans should support what trump and his minions are doing.

For arguments sake. If there is evidence it happened that would be illegal right?

It'll be interesting to see how the media spins this story so they can direct the course of the narrative. It'll also be interesting to see how Patel and Bondi deal with the actual facts.

There's nothing to spin.

There's no evidence of a conspiracy re "honeypots".

For this discussion's sake: there's no evidence that's been presented.
It's very telling you won't answer the question because if that did happen it would definitely be illegal.

It's rich for Biden supporters to complain about weaponization of the justice system after what Biden and Democrats did to Trump.

They will say there's nothing to it and it's just for revenge.

You've posed no question relevant to the thread.

What you want me to do is speculate on a hypothetical.

I don't indulge fantasies of this sort. I respect and utilize facts, which are scarce in the OP.

I literally asked you if what the article talks about happened wouldn't it be illegal. How do you not understand that
