'On the one hand they want to be relieved of the restrictions. On the other hand, they don’t want to get vaccinated’

Republicans who refuse the Covid-19 vaccination are actively “working against” efforts to lift the very coronavirus restrictions they insist are an infringement of their civil liberties, Dr Anthony Fauci, the US government’s leading infectious disease expert, said on Sunday.

Fauci’s comments came as the government announced that half of all adults in the US had received at least one Covid-19 shot, marking another milestone in the nation’s largest-ever vaccination campaign. Almost 130 million people 18 or older have received at least one dose of a vaccine, or 50.4% of the total adult population, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported. Almost 84 million adults, or about 32.5% of the population, have been fully vaccinated.

But Fauci, who was involved in a fiery exchange over the issue with the Republican congressman Jim Jordan on Thursday, told CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday he was frustrated by recent studies showing that up to 45% of Republicans would not take the vaccine.
==================================================================================================================
The fact that one may not want to get vaccinated, in this case a disturbingly large proportion of Republicans, only actually works against where they want to be,” he said.

Republicans are getting increasingly odd.

IOW, the Repubs are fighting against what they say they want.

They really are very stupid people.

They are like two year old children. When you tell a two year old that its bedtime and he is watching TV you will get "But I don't wanna".......followed by a temper tantrum. Its not stupidity so much as just being contrary. BECAUSE someone told them that its a good idea to do something THEREFORE they won't do it. Fauci again is right spot on: the covidiots and maskholes want restrictions lifted but they won't get vaccinated. I sincerely hope that vaccine passports make their lives miserable.

That is the right word. They are too dumb to realize that we could be transitioning back to a normal life this summer and back to normal this fall.

The covidiots and their freedumb fetish are going to keep this going longer than it has to.

They’ve been lied to over and over again that their ”liberties” and “freedom“ are being taken away. Their supreme leader Trump is just sitting back laughing at these goobers.

Jordan is only acting for his voters.

Gym Jordan transcends stupidity. He is malicious. His track record at Ohio State proves that.

He was an asst. wresting coach at OSU when the team doctor was getting fresh with their male students. He had to know about it.

Yet there are some covidiots here who claim that we are the ones who can’t see the truth.

IF YOU WANT YOUR PERCEIVED FREEDOMS BACK GET THE DAMN VACCINE!
Thats the fastest way to get what everyone wants.

In some places, they're already pretty much back to normal. They count on God to protect them.

like i've said before, employers are going to have to start requiring it to make up for the anti-vax nonsense going around.

Its already happening. There may be more examples and if there aren't there will be soon. Not sure about requiring vaccination before full FDA approval. I think thats jumping the gun a bit.

HOUSTON — On Wednesday, Houston Methodist announced its plan to make the COVID-19 vaccine mandatory for all employees.
Carole Hackett, senior vice president and chief human resource officer with Houston Methodist, said 84 percent of staff is already vaccinated with a goal of vaccines for all by June.
“Patient safety is key,” Hackett said. “That is our number one focus, and in order to keep our patients safe, our employees must be vaccinated.”

i haven't heard yet whether my own workplace will require it.

Guns are for fun. They don't really think they need them to be safe.
A lot of their arguments are about how they have the right to protect themselves.

They do have the right to protect themselves. But that's not really why most of them want their guns.

It's kind of like when Democrats say they want background checks and aren't seeking a registration scheme, but then refused to vote on a bill that just requires background checks because it doesn't include a mechanism for de facto registration.

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to know this. Anyone who doesn't claim to know this is just using b.s. as a political weapon, and acting like a mini terrorist. Not everyone cares for the health safety and welfare of this society, which is why we need laws for them.

This is coming from the nonpartisan Dr Fauci lol
