Do you fast in the time of Lent?
I am an atheist, so hell no, never ever ever.
So say 3 out of 3 now.
------------
Btw: Some do not fast for religious reasons, but for health reasons.
but you can do that any time of the week/month/year so why choose lent?
My decision to abstain based on religious rules was an entirely secular one, inspired by an unlikely marriage of curiosity and solidarity. My girlfriend Amy is Baha'i, a faith born out of Iran which emphasises spiritual unity. Baha'is around the world abstain from food or drink during daylight hours for 19 days every March, ahead of the Baha'i new year.
When she informed me that she would soon be fasting, my reaction was typical: it sounded miserable, borderline masochistic, maybe even dangerous. But Amy, who is also a doctor, insisted otherwise.
