A venture fund and a real estate startup – both with links to far-right organizations – are promoting a residential development in rural Kentucky as a haven for fellow rightwingers.

But the underlying finances of land offerings associated with the “Highland Rim Project” (HRP) in Kentucky suggest that buyers will pay a steep premium for living in a remote ideological enclave, while the scheme’s promoters are set to collect tidy profits after making few apparent improvements to the land.

I say let them do this. Show everyone what a disaster it would be.

I just had to look it up:
It's a fun book.

Here is a thumbnail version of it.

My favorite part of the book is the group that basically had to make their house a fortress to keep out the bears. By getting rid of all of the rules and public services that was apparently government tyranny to them, they basically created a situation where they were trapped in their own home.

(1) I understand that some African Americans dream of setting up a community that is inhabited only by their own ethnicity.

(2) So there is nothing wrong if some Caucasians (or Asians or Hispanics) wish to do the same.

(3) One could say that Native Americans already have their own exclusive enclaves.

(4) Some very sincere and idealistic Americans believe that a harmonious multicultural society (as shown in TV commercials) is desirable and possible. Maybe they are right.

(5) Other people, however, respectfully disagree.

Yeah... usually they are Black Supremacists like the Black Hebrew Isrealites and you won't see many people supporting them either

There is nothing wrong with it as long as they break no laws. Usually the people who wish for such things are giant assholes so maybe them cordoning themselves off is a net good.

The ****?

They are.

They usually suck.

I thought that's what NW Montana was for?

(1) I may be wrong, of course.

(2) But I think that the people in Montana (and a certain neighboring state) are very happy.

(3) I hope that they will be allowed to continue to be so.

Missoula is hardly a far right haven.
Sorry lol, that was just a bad joke about the far-right training compound in that area where Timothy McVeigh launched off from.

You think native Americans wanted to be on reservations?

They're allowed to respectfully disagree. They aren't allowed to force this belief on others, however.

Exactly!!!

That is why some people want their own safe zone.

The other people are not respectful, they are racists.

They can have their own safe zone. They just can't prevent people who purchase property in this zone from living there based on their race, ethnicity, politics, religious beliefs, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

This is 2024.

Some apparently still wish to be in their own safe zone.
They made their shit worth something now with gambling. Of course an old white guy like you would want them to leave now.
