Famous People Who Were (Are) Actually Horrible People

I have a guitar pick that Jimi Hendrix personally handed to me at a pop festival in Denver in 1968 when I was 15. He liked to sit on the edge of the stage between songs, and just chat with the people. It's not signed, but it is mine.

i met Jimmy James in 1963-64 at the folly beach pavilion on charleston's coast as a 11-12 year old kid. my parent's friend, Bobby D, DJ for WTMA (Tiger Radio) was the MC at the pavilion. beach/R&B by multiple artists was played from the early evenings til midnight. if a guy takes a dog to the beach, he can talk to any female he wants because the loveable dog breaks the ice. well, i was Bobby D's "dog". he had just divorced and his wife and daughter (about my age) moved away. so, i had the run of the place and got to meet all of the musicians of the day - as well as Bobby D's lady prospects. probably why i began playing guitar and organ about that same time. it was many, many years before i realized that Jimi was Jimmy, playing for the isley brothers. "are you experienced" was the most profoundly changing record i have ever heard; still recall the "experience" of first listening to it in tokyo the fall of '67. we were both blessed to meet Jimi as kids. not many can say that

" Are you experienced ? Have you ever been experienced ? Well, I have. Not necessarily stoned, but beautiful." - Jimi Hendrix -

I suppose Roman Polanski would fit on this list

Of course.
The man is arrogant to the point of near madness, openly displays contempt for women's rights and engages in hubris at a level normally only found in fiction.
And yet he has authored some of the most compelling motion pictures in history.

Farrakhan definitely belongs in the top listings.
He ordered the execution of Malcolm X...and got away with it.

Probably did but he still needs to respect statutes regarding sex with minors, it's child molestation fer chrissakes.

the top of my list would be franklin graham, closely followed by farrakhan and jesse 'hymietown' jackson

Jessie Jackson is the textbook definition of a shakedown artist.
He's fallen a long long way from his "Operation Push" days.

he sank low with his hot mic comment about cutting off Obama's balls

soon thereafter jackson jr wound up in federal prison

Agreed. There's no excuse for what he did. It's hard to watch his movies and not think about that. I have the same problem with Woody Allen.

I never read his latest charges either, I know about the one in the 70's where he drugged and raped a 13 year old girl, and many other accusations over the years he has dodged standing trial over.

He never learned from the first time because he has always fled to countries who refuse to prosecute him, he left britain within one one day and fleeing the us for fear he would be extradited to america, and stayed in france. He was arrested in 2009 in another country but managed to weasel out of that one as well, I think he is running out of countries to hide in outside france.

People are largely a product of the time in which they lived.

So everyone who is alive now, say, is more or less the same? I don't think so.

Everybody alive today is a product of their time--today. You can think however you were conditioned by civilization to think. It was different 200 years ago and it will be different 200 years from now.

Sure, no one in 1820 thought exactly like we do today - one one thing we know an awful lot more My point is that in, say, 1820 not everyone thought alike; there were a multitude of different ways of thinking, about politics, science, religion and everything else. If ways of thought were simply a result of conditioning by civilisation or society then everyone would have thought the same. Right?

I'd agree with Joan Crawford and add Bette Davis. Then I'd point out the inconsistency at the bottom of your post. You have a statement calling for honesty, right beside the official symbol of a radical anarcho-communist organization(ANTIFA) who epitomize deception and political manipulation. Did you see their enormous banner from a march held within the past year or so, where they 'proudly' advertised their association with NAMBLA? In a separate video, they are walking with signs and verbal slogans of "no pedo-bashing"....

When it comes to ANTIFA, the red flags could NOT be any more obvious at this point! Even if I were a progressive, I'd OPPOSE that group! They are NOT helping your cause! The only cause they are helping, is the "cause" of a bunch of billionaire globalist Marxists who are trying to subvert the national sovereignty of MANY countries, in order to create a modern, global version of the USSR. In other words, totalitarian, global communism v2!

LOL - no partisan agenda in that list!

You left out:

Jon Voight (a real bastard!)
Clint Eastwood
All the Baldwins except Alec who has reconciled with his daughter and redeemed himself with his spot-on trump impression!

I'm a progressive and I oppose that group, or any group who advocates violence, such as trump and his supporters.

Bill Cosby
Michael Jackson
Julian Assange
All GOP presidents in the modern era beginning with Nixon, except for H.W. Bush

On the all star list of the truly horrible - Mother Teresa.

Isn't Chevy Chase regarded as pretty much a giant douchebag?

Yeah, when they did a Friars Club roast of him, so many people turned it down. Those who showed up were not roasting him in the fun spirit of the event...they pretty much hated him.

Some celebs were hypocrites, Red Skelton used to preach about only working clean, yet before his shows, he would go out and deliver the raunchiest comedy set he could think of. He was also part of a huge pornography sting along with Lou Costello and George Raft. But he kept a phony public image up.

And then there is Danny Thomas. Trust me, you don't want to know....:lamo

Another great idiot was Buddy Rich. If you have ever heard the audio tapes of him berating his band and treating them like dirt, you know what I mean.

But, there is a great story about him, after he died:
