Carney is meeting with Trump today so now is a good time to fact check the Mad King.

This is a summary of the fibs Trump has told about Canada. His continuous lies especially about our trade reveal that the trade war he initiated is built entirely on bullshit.

WashingtonCNN —
President Donald Trump has been making false claims about Canada for months. He did it again in the days leading up to his scheduled Tuesday meeting with Prime Minister Mark Carney.

In an interview that aired Sunday on NBC, Trump made Canada’s military spending sound much smaller than it is and made the US trade deficit with Canada sound much bigger than it is. And in a late-April interview with The Atlantic, he exaggerated the extent of Canada’s trade reliance on the US.

For anyone who wants to watch the meeting between Carney and Trump the CBC will cover it live.

Stream at the link below.

I wonder what time Carney's supposed to arrive.
I have an appointment! I might have to opt for the replay.

I don't know if this schedule is accurate:

Today’s itinerary: from arrival to Oval Office

12:30 PM ET: Carney arrives at the White House North Portico. He will be greeted by President Trump for a short, informal photo-op and handshake.

12:40 PM ET: A working lunch begins behind closed doors with top advisers from both administrations expected to join.

2:00 PM ET (estimated): Carney and Trump move to the Oval Office for a more private one-on-one discussion.

3:00 PM ET (tentative): A joint press availability may occur, though not yet officially confirmed.

Darn! I'll miss the arrival,

Lutnick called Canada a, "Socialist regime" on Fox....................I think yesterday.
It's gonna be a combative meeting, by the looks of it.
According to CBC, Vance is expected to be present.

American oil companies produce more crude in Canada than they have refinery capacity in Canada to process so they pipeline it to facilities in the US, refine it and sell it on the world market. Trump calls that crude 'imports' when he's cooking the balance of trade books.
He omits the 'services' from the American 'goods and services' sold to Canada side of the equation too.
He has the low-functioning magatry believing that international trade is between governments, not companies buying and selling between each other.

One things sure- Carney will be the smartest person in the room.

I'd bet against that. Both leaders have paid each other compliments. Trump called Carney a "real nice guy" and Carney said (with a straight face) that Trump was "a good negotiator".

Trump needs this meeting to go well with progress he can point to. He's made claims of countries wanting deals and Carney is the first to put a face to that.

Carney could walk away with Trumps clothes and wallet and Trump will call it a 'win'!

Carney is a smart man. He knows all you need to do is feed Trump's ego and it will calm the savage moron.

Yup. He's a charmer and has a lot of experience with world leaders and even monarchs who are not lacking in ego.

Netanyahu already met with Trump on Apr 7.

President Trump Holds a Meeting and Press Conference with Israeli PM Netanyahu ~ April 7 2025

Regarding trade?

I think so.
Trump didn't budge.

Netanyahu was summoned to Washington ostensibly to make Israel's case against the levy.
He was the first international leader to do so, in an encounter that may have set the stage for how other world leaders approach the tariffs.

While Trump repeatedly praised the Israeli leader, he did not appear to budge on Israel's share of the burden. Asked if he might change his mind, he said “maybe not.”
He cited the billions of dollars the U.S. gives Israel in military assistance each year — money that is seen as the bedrock of the U.S.-Israel relationship and an insurance policy for U.S. interests in the region.

“We give Israel $4 billion a year. That’s a lot,” he said, as though to suggest Israel was already getting enough from the U.S., and congratulated Netanyahu on that achievement.

Regarding trade?
The meeting was not about trade specifically but trade did come up. Netanyahu said Israel would be willing to lower or eliminate tariffs but no deal or plan to do that has been announced.

Markets are all down. Hopefully some talk of trade negotiations resulting from this meeting will perk them up.

During the Oval Office sit down there will be two rabid pit pulls in the room.

JD Vance who may be tasked with challenging (and/or insulting) Canada and Brian Glenn, the Real America's Voice reporter who asked why Zelensky wasn't wearing a suit.

Netanyahu was summoned?
Garbage journalism.

Trump just posted this on Truth Social.
