Extremists finding fertile ground in Northwest US
By NICHOLAS K. GERANIOS, Associated Press

He used all these great words and phrases in the article about Montana, but he never once mentioned the KKK - You think this guy might be a liberal?

sometimes-violent anti-government activity, neo-Nazi Aryan Nations, anti-government and white supremacist groups, radical right groups, so-called patriot groups, deep libertarian streak, White supremacist, Flathead Liberty Bell, right-wing speakers, hate groups and patriot groups, extremist groups, violent extremists, "Unabomber" Theodore Kaczynski, Montana Freemen were a Christian Patriot group, anti-government movement, Aryan Nations, Story of the Waffen SS, White supremacist, racist pop singing group Prussian Blue, Constitution Party,

Montana must be a hotbed of great idea's!

If you mean liberal as in "someone who exposes the dark underbelly of the right wing to the disgust of the right wing and hence must be labelled a liberal to try to deflect attention from their own dirty little secret"? Then yes..

If you mean liberal as in a left winger... then no.

If you mean liberal as in the true sense of the word, then yes... a true liberal will always fight against the extremist movements mentioned in the OP article and the KKK and any other extremist group regardless of which side of the political spectrum....

but I am guessing you meant the first one...

The KKK does not have much presence in the US north west. Ayran Nations have had in the past a very strong presence in that region. Including terrorist training camps in parts of Idaho

Gosh...."Dark underbelly of the right wing" Who new?

Liberals are so noble!

And you've seen these "Terrorist training camps"?....maybe it was just a Boy Scout Jamboree.

Do they exist now, unsure, but they did in the late 80s and early 90s

I just thought the article was humorous and a bit over-written...used all the mainstream media catch phrases and descriptors, but failed to mention the KKK, or assault weapons, or blame it all on Ronald Reagan or George Bush......

I'm just wondering why it took him this long to notice. God, ain't nothing in Idaho but potatoes and Nazis.

Yeah, it's about as solid a republican state as you'll find anywhere.

Idaho doesn't actually exist. It's a conspiracy to hide all of the potatoes we were importing from the USSR back in the day.
But now we're stuck with the fiction and all that it took to make it seem so.

And, to the OP, "What'syerpoint?"

What part of the country doesn't have its nutcases and extremists of one stripe or another?

Great. Let all those groups live in isolation in the wilderness where generally they can't hurt anyone but themeselves.
