From what I've read there's no question that the Feds screwed this up big time. On the other hand ... no one would have gotten killed if the Weavers had simply come out with their hands up.
So can extremist Muslims. Should they fall under the same microscope as militia groups?

I didn't ask you, mostly because I don't give a rat's ass what you think about it.
The question was for Gimmesometruth. Not Thunder.
sorry, this isn't your own personal forum.
I can answer any question I damn well please.
if they are gathering guns & other weapons, and training?
you better believe it.
There is absolutly nothing illegal about gathering guns and weapons, nor training to use them. The illegality occurs when one uses a gun to harm another.
In a sane world, it would be seen as a civic duty. It used to be.

planning to use such weapons to launch a terrorist attack, is a crime.
Something I educated you on a while back. possessing a weapon with the INTENT to use it criminally is a crime

Intent and planning has to be proven. Until that point, it's not illegal to own and train with guns. I can own 100 guns and shoot each of them every day, and it's perfectly legal.

Apparently some people think the only reason you'd want to collect guns and train with them is to commit a terrorist act, or try to start a revolution.
so, if Muslim extremists are amassing guns & ammo, and doing tactical training in the woods, and have even built mock buildings, you don't want the FBI looking into them?
as it should be. if militias plan on using their weapons for terrorism or to start a "revolution", the authoritiies should know.
Not without just cause.

its a question.
your answer?

I have a Muslim friend from Syria. He's highly educated and makes a good living. He owns a 1000 thousand acre rance about 1/1/2 hours west of here. Three or four times a year, he takes about 20-30 of the guys at work out to his ranch, and they shoot all day. Shoot wild hogs, shoot rocks, shoot targets, drink beer, and there are lots of guns on the premisis. Shouuld he be suspected of being a muslim extremist, because of this behavior, or must ther be more evidence of his nature and intent? Afterall, he's *muslim-looking*, and he takes a bunch of guys out to shoot in the woods.
