Hillary Clinton is planning to officially launch her US presidential campaign on Sunday while en route to Iowa, a source familiar with the campaign has confirmed to the Guardian.

The former secretary of state is scheduled to declare her second run for president on Twitter at noon eastern time on Sunday, the source told the Guardian, followed by a video and email announcement, then a series of conference calls mapping out a blitzkrieg tour beginning in Iowa and looking ahead to more early primary states. Clinton’s Sunday schedule is booked beginning with takeoff from New York to Iowa, where speculation has centered for weeks that Clinton was focusing attention for an April campaign launch. Her scheduled calls are with advisers in other key battleground states.

Re: Exclusive: Hillary Clinton to launch presidential campaign on Sunday en route to

It begins.

She's a poor choice for dems, and I look forward to seeing her defeated.

Re: Exclusive: Hillary Clinton to launch presidential campaign on Sunday en route to

A poor choice that can beat pretty much everybody in the Republican side.... according to polls from FOX anyways.

You mean decades of name recognition over several different GOP candidates, and prospective candidates.

Give it time, you will have to let the dream die.

Np, I mean polls taken to measure Hillary vs candidates independently. In any case, it's not as if people who wouldn't vote for Hillary Clinton would do so if the "wrong" republican candidate came along.

Its usually the winning sides to lose, but the polls Ive seen are promising. And we are just getting started.

Promising for what? The overwhelming majority of polls have Hillary beating everyone. Even polls by right leaning news sources. Rubio, Cruz, Christie, Bush. I think it's you who is trying to keep a dream alive.

The latest polls Ive seen. Im not going to go around and around with you. Its going to be a pleasure watching the Hillary dream die. Just saying. :2wave:

It's pretty telling you won't say which polls. Just that they exist. Somewhere. Maybe.

You're still pretending this won't be a victory for Clinton. Slowly but surely the opposite will become obvious.

Doesn't change the fact that you don't really believe she'll be a good president, unless you just don't give a **** about anything. I really don't want to believe that.

The Democrats didn't even make an attempt to find someone to challenge her. I want to be a candidate in the party that hands you the crown.

Announcing via Twitter?? ... hahahaha.... I bet you $87 that she doesn't even know how to USE Twitter.

Clinton leads GOP field nationally, although down from February - Public Policy Polling

here is the part you should be particularly concerned with:

"Paul's numbers are interesting. He actually does better than anyone else on his side with independents, leading Clinton by 14 points at 47/33."

Clinton is not going to be president if she loses the independent vote by that margin.

here is another brand new poll story:

2016 Presidential Swing State Polls Poll - April 9, 2015 - Paul Blooms As Clinton Wilts I | Quinnipiac University Connecticut

of particular concern:

"In all three of these states, more, and in Colorado many more, registered voters say she is not honest and trustworthy"

Oh, Elizabeth Warren isn't so excited about handing her the crown...

My Democrat wife's reaction was: "Ugh. No more Democrats". Talk about fatigue. I guess she was hoping nobody would run.

Everyone on the Republican side is withing 3 points of Clinton. If you know anything about polling you shouldn't be too comfortable with Hilary's numbers before the campaign even starts. She hasn't even been opening attacked by her own party yet, and that is coming first.

Or Martin O'Malley, Or Obama.

All that fund raising that Obama has done over the last 6 years isn't going to Hillary in the Primaries.

Re: Exclusive: Hillary Clinton to launch presidential campaign on Sunday en route to

She has about as much chance of winning the Presidency as I do.

Once the actual campaign starts people are going to see very quickly that Mrs. Clinton is uncharismatic and uninspiring. She also has much more baggage than anyone she will have to face, not only on the Republican side, but on her side as well.

In terms of polls, there was a Fox News poll that showed a tie between Clinton and Bush (45%-45%). Clinton had modest leads over Cruz, Paul, Rubio, and Walker. However, an ABC News/Washington Post poll taken just a few days earlier showed Clinton with large leads over Bush (12 points), Cruz, Rubio, and Walker (Paul wasn't included). While there is some difference among the polls, two things are probably reasonable at this time: (1) She would be a formidable candidate upon entering, especially when one considers her contacts, fundraising capacity, and campaign infrastructure; and, (2) There has been some erosion in her advantage in recent weeks.

The erosion in her advantage is probably related to the e-mail issue that has been in the news. What's important for her campaign (assuming she announces) and her opponents is that the polling outcomes highlight a potential vulnerability for her and potential opportunity for her opponents (Democratic Party and Republican Party). In contrast, the Benghazi claims, which had been investigated repeatedly, had no measurable impact on her numbers. So, it might make sense for her campaign to devote greater attention to developing a credible response for the e-mail issue. At the same time, it would make more sense for her opponents to develop lines of attack tied to the e-mail matter rather than focusing on Benghazi. Moreover, a skillful campaign could develop a general line of argument that ties together all of these issues into a compelling narrative. At the same time, there would also need to be a positive narrative for voters to choose an opponent.

Everything considered, she would enter the race as a strong candidate albeit now weakened to some degree. Much can still happen between now and the nominations and general election. Public perceptions concerning the state of the economy and expectations about its future will be one important element.

However, Senator Warren has repeatedly denied that she's going to run for President. For now, it appears that she is trying to influence the positions Clinton will take on certain issues.

She considered joining twitter but decided not to because she didn't want to carry another device.

Dear Moderators: Please make it a rule prohibiting the display of Hilary's ugly ass face on all posts pertaining to her. Thank you.

That tends to happen after 6-8 years of one side running the show. Its another reason why Hillary is facing an uphill battle-winning 3 consecutive presidential elections from either party is exceedingly rare.
