Note: I excluded Magas for this simple reason. I have yet to hear a Maga says anything other than their economic situation has improved under Trump. Many data points show this to be blatantly false. As such, I can get their propaganda from "Foxsnooze", so no need to get it here.

In my part of the "Bible Belt", here is the current situation:
Gas is a few cents cheaper than this time last year.
Grocery prices continue to increase.
Prices for non food items are increasing as a result of tariffs.
Energy prices are increasing at a high rate.
The job market has diminished as of late.
We are experiencing layoffs for the first time in years.
What is it like in your "neck of the woods"?

In my retired neck of the woods what affects us the most are the high prices of almost everything. If the gop thought prices under Biden were bad, and they did, they don't say a word about the higher prices under trump. They're keeping a stiff upper lip.

We've improved our personal situation a bit, but the modus is unrelated to any government action.

Yes, stuff is more expensive, pretty much across the board, largely negating the boost to our income.
But also, expenses have been rising fast for several years now, it's not a new thing.

Maybe other parts of the country are experiencing an improved economy, but not here.

This county, and one adjacent county, are almost always growing jobs and building factories and warehouses. We had a really bad slump in the 70s and 80s when the textile mills went away (out of the country), but otherwise it's always growing.
Not to say there's always GOOD jobs, or that they're easy to get without experience, but there's jobs.

Contrariwise there are many counties in my state where there's almost nothing, though that also isn't new.

I am up for a promotion at work, but that's not due to anything political.

Beyond that, stuff is just getting more expensive.

Yeah, pre-Covid I used to get all the groceries we needed for maybe $65. Now I rarely get out for less than $100, often more.
I constantly get sticker-shock at other stores too. Stuff I haven't bought in a while and I think it ought to be $5-10, and it's 15 or 20.

I am looking at this promotion I am getting once the new budget hits (and I go through a 3 month period of doing the next job up to satisfy some HR requirement). I am leapfrogging two positions up. That's great, but part of me wonders if I am just going to break even with all the inflation.

Yeah. Son#1 just finished college and got a new job in his new profession; the entry-level pay is higher but not all that much, yet. He was just wondering if the increase would even offset the higher prices and inflation.

Of course, in a year or two he can get something paying a lot better, probably, but you have to get your foot in the door and that's what this is.

Assuming we're not all rolling wheelbarrows full of cash to buy a Big Mac by then...

Oh hell no!

Many food prices, especially beef have jumped way up under Trump.

Gasoline for our cars is up over 11% since January 20th.

Our monthly electric power bill is up over 6% since Donald Trump repeated the oath of office on January 20th, 2025.

Before Trump, I purchased a 3 pound package of ground beef for $10.44 and today that same brand, same weight, it is selling for $16.94.

That is a 62.26% increase in cost.

MAGA my big fat hairy ass!!!
