If the Germans vote for the wrong people, if the German elections go the wrong way, then we'll just screw them and nullify those elections -- just like we did for Romania!
says the former EU Commissioner, Thierry Breton.

Ex-Commissioner Breton: ‘What Was Done in Romania May Be Needed in Germany’

Former French European Commissioner Thierry Breton pointed to the Romanian precedent to evoke a possible annulment of the results of the German elections, if they are not conducted correctly, an intervention that came in the context of the debate about Elon Musk’s interference in Berlin politics, writes the website of the French television BFMTV.

Breton called for “calm” in the face of Elon Musk’s interference in the internal affairs of Europe, stating that the law is strong enough to act as a deterrent.

If, on the other hand, the Tesla and X boss breaks the law, especially in Germany, by supporting the extremist AfD party, the former European Commissioner believes that it will be necessary for the authorities to act as in Romania, where the presidential elections were canceled, writes the website of the French television BFMTV, which recalls Călin Georgescu’s TikTok campaign.

Musk, close to US President-elect Donald Trump, who returns to the White House on January 20, regularly criticizes European regulations in the digital sphere and accuses Brussels of censorship. The head of the company Meta, Mark Zuckerberg shares this attitude with him
...
"Let's keep our cool and apply our laws in Europe when they are at risk of being circumvented. We did it in Romania and we should do it in Germany if necessary," Breton said.

Musk responded today on the X network by pointing out the "stunning absurdity of Thierry Breton, the tyrant of Europe".
