Europe Resists U.S. Push to Curb Iran Ties

Is US Euro balance of power more important than isolating Iran and it's Nuke program?

Is American European balance of power more important than isolating and minimalizing the Iranian Regime that supports Hezbollah further insurgent escalation of violence in Iraq?
Seriously? To all the Europeans, what the hell are your governments doing?
Bush is a moron, that doesn't matter. You think that Iran getting the bomb will be a good thing?
There is such a thing as the greater good, and whether or not you like or dislike our administration or what we American's may have done or not done in the last few year is irrelevant to the point that supporting the Iranian regime is a path that you do not want to go down. That supporting their power rise will only mean very bad days ahead for the rest of the world.
 
The European US balance of power is not so important to me. We should do what is good for us. I would prefer European politics which is much less interested in what the American government think is right or wrong. This includes leaving the NATO, dismantling all American military bases in Germany (the same goes for British military bases) and sanctions against the US.
 

I'm fairly sure this is the only moderate post I've ever seen you make.

Liberals are finally realizing that the only people more conservative than American republicans are Islamic fundamentalists.

Which is kinda scary if you follow the Yin-Yang philosophy. Once you destroy one evil. Another must take it's place to maintain the balance. Will there be a war of massive proportions between liberals and conservatives after we defeat Radical Islam? Ta-nanana! Stay tuned and find out on this week's. Political Battlefield!
 

Europe is a lot closer to Iran than the US is. Because they share the same hemisphere they would also share the burden of nuclear fallout or spill over from war and fleeing refugees. So why is the US more worried about Iran building nukes than Europe or Iran's neignbors are? Do they know something about Iran that the US doesn't?

Actually, LIBERALS realized that long ago. The real liberals and those with any intelligence, anyway.

It is the Reactionary authoritarian leftists who haven't, and the reason they haven't is because they do not think, but merely hate and react. Heck,in a post yestersday, one of the hateful Euro leftists was mocking the murder of innocent Israelis in the latest mass murder.That isn't liberality. It may call itself a liberal, but it's repulsive views have nothing to do with true liberality.
 
Yes I agree with Volker. There's no reason for Europe to follow the US line here. In fact Id support Europe banding together to build an EU task force to defend Iran when the time comes. Finally the Europeans will do something for themselves for a change, Im sure the UK, French, Germans etc etc could put something together pretty quickly if they had the will.

You think that not having a united front against Iran is a good idea then? Sure the Euro's need to do something on thier own for a change, but going it alone against the greater good just for the little purpose of pride is a very stupid thing.
 
This would be a good solution, it would be good if we could stop the US aggressors before they start something stupid again. Sure, the UK would need a new government to do that, one, who better represents its people.

Just taking a stab here, but maybe because they treat women as chattal, hate Jews with a genocidal passion and believe everybody must submit to Allah's will?

Yep. If Iran gets the bomb, one will be smuggled into Tel Aviv inside a year, the Europeans must know this. But antisemitism runs deep in Europe's blood. First it was because they killed Jesus, then it was because Europeans were in their debt since Jews were the only ones allowed to lend money, then because they caused the Black Death, then because they had satanic powers, then because they had tails, then because they somehow caused the downfall of Germany and now because they have their own state. Yes, in Europe, there's always a perfectly legitimate reason to kill a Jew. Long after racism ceases to be an issue in the United States, antisemitism will thrive in Europe.

Europe and Israel will be more at risk from a nuclear Iran than the US. The reason the US is so worreid is because of Iran dominance in the region where the US itself wants to dominate.

The US doesn't have trade links with Iran, Europe does. I know Germany and Italy gets a large portion of their oil from Iran.
It would be like putting sanctions on Saudi Arabia for its nuclear program, the US would never stand for it because 1/4 of oil that the US imports is from there.

But if sanctions caused regime change I would be all for it and in that case I would side with the US, but I wouldn't hold my breathe. A war with Iran though, would not be good for anybody. The irony is that if Iraq war never happened Iran wouldn't have been so bold. Karma eh??

I know Germany decreased their Iran imports from Iran in 2005. Do you have a link per chance out of interest?
