My brother moved to TX about five years ago. He left CA, bitching about high taxes. He has taken up guns and has definitely leaned to the right, ideologically.
I talked to him today sad he said he has bought one of Erik Prince’s “Unplugged” cell phones. Has anyone hear heard about them? Reviews are a little sketchy…..

Based on the description, it sounds like any smartphone can be made "unplugged." Get a VPN, encryption such as PGP and anti-virus software, and use DuckDuckGo instead of Google as your search engine.

I have a far simpler solution: Don't buy a smartphone. You can find out the location of my POTS landline, if you know the number, and it will always located in the same place - regardless of my location. So it cannot be used to track my whereabouts. My POTS landline phone is also not a computer, and is incapable of receiving text, much less a virus of any kind. No anti-virus software or encryption software is required.
