Add to that everyone suspects other powerful people such as Clinton and Prince Andrew are also in there a fair bit and there was really no interest in publicizing the contents. We all get that.

But it is Convicted Felon Donald TRUMP who made it a campaign issue and HIS own AG who said she was reviewing the files. It was TRUMP who got MAGA's hopes up that he'd release the files then backtracked spectacularly and it's TRUMP who is now in a tailspin flailing about for distractions.

You keep sealioning the Biden angle - why didn't they releae the files in 4 years,blah blah blah? Unless you have a better reason, they didn't want to make it an issue.

And even if there's no more than we've already seen its deeply embarrassing for Trump. He hung out with the guy, sleazed on women together, talked like he knew what was going on behind closed doors and the receipts are all there for us to chuckle at.

It's been a few weeks since the DOJ and FBI officially declare no "client list" exists and let it be known that there would be no further document releases.

On July 8th I posted the following poll:

• The DOJ abruptly fired prosecutor Maurene Comey, who led Maxwell/Epstein case prosecutions.
• A federal judge in Florida denied the DOJ’s disingenuous motion to unseal Epstein‐era grand jury transcripts.
• House Oversight voted to subpoena DOJ Epstein files.
• The WSJ reported Pam Bondi privately told Trump in May his name appears in the files.
• Bloomberg reported that an FBI FOIA team redacted Trump’s name (and other public figures) from Epstein records.
• Trump publicly complained that Epstein "stole" Mar‑a‑Lago spa staff, and specifically references Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein's victims.
• Trump's former defense attorney, now Deputy AG Todd Blanche, met privately with Ghislaine Maxwell over two days and offered limited immunity to encourage her cooperation.
• Trump declared he's "allowed" to pardon Maxwell.
• Ghislaine Maxwell was quietly transferred from Tallahassee to a minimum‑security federal camp in Texas. To do so someone in the government had to waive her status as a sex offender.

Since the first poll was conducted on July 8th, how has your position changed? Do you still have some suspicion that something is not right, or that Trump or members of his administration may even be trying to cover something up? For example, do you still believe Epstein had no "client list," and died by suicide?

In answer to the OP thread question, no I don't think Trump is trying to cover up anything. IMO he simply doesn't care about the Epstein situation, since he expelled the man from his properties and person years prior to his even running.

I think Trump considers this whole issue as a Democrat effort at distraction from Trump's plans to improve the USA both socially and economically. Unfortunately for him, the media (which practically ignored the whole issue under the Biden Administration) is now trying to make this a focus in order to stop or at least slow down Trump's momentum.

Since it has become a "big deal" Trump has instructed the DOJ to do whatever necessary to provide the information available on Epstein so the government can get back on track working on REAL issues.
