I'd seen this pop up a few times in the last couple days and was skeptical of its authenticity. Now it comes out the "Enron Egg," a nuclear reactor for individual residential use, is a satirical invention. I watched the "unveiling" and thought it humorous that the presenter kept referring to "enronium." Then the man playing the role of Enron's CTO came out and started describing the inner workings of the Egg (at 2:00):

The nonsensical jargon that sounds vaguely technical reminded me instantly of the turbo encabulator, first envisioned in the mid-40's, extended to the video format in the late 70's:

...and somewhat modernized ten years later as the "retro encabulator":

...before being modernized again in 2022 by the 1987 guy presenting a "hyper encabulator" (a self-parody I'd not heard of until creating this very thread -- the SOC drawer is the best feature, IMHO...):

Shedding the "encabulator" technobabble, the creator of the "birds aren't real" fake conspiracy theory ventures into a reboot of the encabulator spirit.

It's good.

This was pretty funny!

I wonder how much these guys had to practice to say all this so seriously, without busting out laughing. I don’t think I could do it.
