So I see that Elite : Dangerous has hit XBONE and PS4. Being someone who really didn't think "No Man's Sky" was that bad of a game, E.D. seems to be 10X better.
Who's played it? What's your opinion? Is it worth getting?

I did it right, and got the game with a HOTAS stick. The difference between the original controller and a HOTAS is beyond belief. The game is very impressive, and I suggest getting it, if only for about seven days from Gamestop just to check it out before returning it.

The first week, I felt like a pimple-faced momma's boy, locked in her basement. Played that damn game for hours and hours at a clip. There's a great zen-like relaxation to being a simple space trucker, just hauling stuff from system to system. I tried some of the more combat-based missions, and severely got my ass handed to me. I think I'll stick to space truckin'. Work my way up to being a tour guide and cashing in on some of that sweet, sweet tourist money.
I played mechwarrior 4 with one of those. Almost led to divorce!
I could never line up with those goddamn rotating space stations well. Once I got the HOTAS, I could book it through that mail slot, doing almost 200 whatever-the-hell-units-of-speed-they-use.
