Indoctrinating? How can you call it indoctrinating when it was a part of a Black History month skit last February a month after the first Black Presidents inaugural in our counties history?…Oh by the way, here is the original video, notice that there is no music?Kinda make you go Hhmm…wondering where Fox got theirs doesn’t it?
YouTube - (No background music) School kids taught to praise Obama
How do the words "He said red, yellow, black or white/All are equal in his sight” equate to supporting a cult of personality?bizarre.
You might want to rework this part of your post. I consider myself a part of the United States
that is in the majority as for as religious beliefs are concerned, Christianity.
((78.4%) other wise you saying “**** your god” to the god of a majority of Americans. :2wave:
Can some one please explain to me why this is a big deal please. At worst, best I can figure is a couple teachers in one school district exercised poor judgment. Isn't there much more important things going on to spend energy worrying about?
You don't think some teacher somewhere told their students about the greatness of Bush? I suspect it is highly likely.
If by poor judgment you mean the attempted indoctrination of elementary school children into a cult of personality. Then ya sure.

I think that is stating it stronger than it really is, but yes. Why is this a big deal to any one other than the parents of those 18 children? Are one of those kids yours? If not, why the hell do you care? Shouldn't the parents of the kids get with the school and express their concerns...isn't that the right way this should be handled? What do you expect to gain by throwing a fit over this?
I hope to gain the knowledge that it won't happen again, however, the superintendent has actually stood by it and suggested that he would have it happen again and most laughably suggested that it's not that they forcing children to pray to Obama but that it was videotaped. In other words he's not even sorry he got caught. Wow.
Please link to the song... I really don't care what you "think" happened.
Back in 2006 children from Gulf Coast states serenaded First Lady Laura Bush with a song praising the President, Congress, and Federal Emergency Management Agency for their response to -- of all things -- Hurricane Katrina. The lyrics were as follows:
Our country's stood beside us People have sent us aid. Katrina could not stop us, our hopes will never fade. Congress, Bush and FEMA People across our land Together have come to rebuild us and we join them hand-in-hand!
The event took place at that year's White House Easter Egg Roll and included roughly 100 children from Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. President Bush, it seems, wasn't in attendance during the song itself. But he was there earlier, when the First Lady read the book, Will You Be My Friend: A Bunny and Bird Story by Nancy Tafuri, to the children.
"After the reading," the Wall Street Journal reported at the time, "Mr. Bush asked, 'Did you like this book? Does it tell you about what people can do to help other people, what bird did to help bunny? Be kind to him and give him shelter.'"
April 17 said:To the tune of Hey Look Me Over, about 100 young children from Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama sang:
[Easter White House]
Our country’s stood beside us
People have sent us aid.
Katrina could not stop us, our hopes will never fade.
Congress, Bush and FEMA
People across our land
Together have come to rebuild us and we join them hand-in-hand!
After the song, Mrs. Bush posed for photos with the kids, many of whom were wearing Katrina Kids T-shirts, despite the chilly rain.
Earlier, the First Lady read Will You Be My Friend: A Bunny and Bird Story by Nancy Tafuri. According to a White House pool report, the children sat on the grass as Mrs. Bush read; she sat in a white wrought iron chair, freshly toweled by two Park Service employees.
It will happen again as long as human beings teach. Imperfections are natural,
and this is the exact opposite of a big deal. The fact you are making a big deal out of something as trivial as this shows more about you than anything.
When has it happened before now? This is a phenomenon completely alien to the free world. Political indoctrination in public education was once reserved for totalitarian regimes. Like it or not there is currently a cult of personality behind this current administration, and the question is what are they going to do?
So wait you don't think that the compulsory political indoctrination of children in a public school is not a big deal? Tell me when will it become a big deal? Do we have to wait around for it to happen in every school in the country? Do we have to wait until the department of education produces curriculum for students k-12 making praise of dear leader compulsory? Do we have to wait until the NEA is used to produce great statues to our dear leader? Oh wait scratch that last one to late.
Once again this was at the White House Easter Egg hunt, it wasn't about a single person, and it wasn't compulsory in a public school setting.
Ah so it's only indoctrination in certain environments. Got it.
I think it is only indoctrination if it's Pro-Obama. Let's face it, logic is not a strong suit for those making a big deal out of this.

You have shown no evidence this happened anywhere but this one district, to these 18 students. This is not some big national indoctrination conspiracy.
Further, any time teachers with opinions teach about current events, they are going to inflict part of their beliefs into what they teach, which is not really different than this.
Should the teachers have done this? Probably not. Is it a big deal for any one not actually involved? Not really, it is a small time local issue with no national ramifications.
I think it's only indoctrination when forcing children to sing praises for policy platform of a sitting POTUS.
So you define indoctrination is such a narrow way that it only applies to this one situation. How convenient.
I think the phrase "feigned outrage" was coined for just these situations.
Please link to the song... I really don't care what you "think" happened.
How can I call deifying a sitting POTUS indoctrination? Well let me see:
A cult of personality is similar to general hero worship, except that it is created specifically for political leaders. However, the term may be applied by analogy to refer to adulation of religious or non-political leaders.
Cult of personality - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It's straight out of "Jesus Loves the Little Children" replacing Jesus with Obama. lol
Well here in the United States we don't worship Presidents we don't have cults of personality. Presidents work for the people not the other way around.
Well that explains it. Then I understand why you think cults of personality aren't all that bad. Say hi to your skydaddy for me.
Ya pretty much.
So what your saying is that all you have besides your strawmen, is a crystal ball eh?Ok, noted. :2wave:
Um no I believe what I have been saying is that political indoctrination is not acceptable practice in the public school system.
Forcing kids to say that: "Mr. President we honor your great plans," is the text book definition of political indoctrination. The people responsible need to be fired and the message needs to be loud and clear that this is simply not acceptable behavior from a teacher. If you want to indoctrinate your own children into a cult of personality have at it but if you bring that kind of behavior into the classroom you should be fired.
Does the party trying to do the indoctrinations send the lyrics home for parental approval prior to the so-called indoctrination?
According to the“Fox News video” the lyrics were sent home prior to the assembly, no parents objected to them, so no force involved when you have parental approval.
No and neither did this one. Proof or it didn't happen.
Um where the hell did you get that tidbit of disinformation sir? According to the parents who have been interviewed they had no idea what the hell was going and only found out about it after they saw it on youtube:
YouTube - Sean Hannity: Parents of Kids Subjected to Barack Obama Indoctrination Song Want Principal Fired
In fact the Fox News article from my OP quotes one of the parents:
"I'm stunned -- I can't believe it's our school," said Jim Pronchik, who told FOXNews.com his 8-year-old son Jimmy was one of the 18 students in the video. "We don't want to praise this guy like he's a god or an idol or a king or anything like that. That's the wrong message to be sending."
