A guy goes to a Walmart in Mexico to check out egg prices:
So why can't US grocery stores simply import eggs from Mexico? Because the goddamn progressive regulatory state prohibits it, just like it prohibits importing insulin.
Never forget: the main purpose of government regulation is to restrict our choices, thereby making us worse off.
If we get rid of government regulation, we would have to get rid of border enforcement. Would you like that?
What's the tariff on agricultural imports from Mexico?A guy goes to a Walmart in Mexico to check out egg prices:

Cut 'em off of eggs altogether.Eggs in Canada are about $4.50. Here in FL they are $7 in Publix which is about $9 plus Canadian . I read that the US was looking to increase imports of Canadian eggs.....my answer...sure, with a 25% surtax.
I assume he is serious. Borders are anathema to true anarchists.
Yup, leave it up to the current clueless administration to try to use Canadian eggs to possibly lower the price? Forget about the fact that said kooky administration just waged war on our neighbors to the north..Eggs in Canada are about $4.50. Here in FL they are $7 in Publix which is about $9 plus Canadian . I go down the hill aways and pay $6 at the farm gate. Cooler full of egg cartons, coffee can for the money. Free-range, yolks more orange than the back of Trump's neck.Eggs in Canada are about $4.50. The problem isn't that Mexican eggs are cheaper and that we can't import them. Hell, we produce enough eggs right here in the US.A guy goes to a Walmart in Mexico to check out egg prices:

The problem is state laws that require eggs to be cage free and/or free range.
I used to be able to buy a dozen eggs here in Colorado for less than $2, but since they passed the law requiring all eggs to be cage free, I can't get a dozen for less than $5.
Sorry, this damn government has no business profiting off the price of any food items coming into this country. It used to be called "providing for the countries citizens" until trumpdump. FFS!I go down the hill aways and pay $6 at the farm gate. Cooler full of egg cartons, coffee can for the money. Free-range, yolks more orange than the back of Trump's neck.
Don't know if I like the idea of increasing exports to the US though. Not unless we're so over-productive that eggs are being trashed. Besides, every dozen eggs would put a buck or so into the US government coffers.
That's an easy one. According to the trump admin, the ONLY people coming into this country from Mexico are criminals, rapists, and fentanyl drug runners. Forget bout the fact that there is zero proof of this. Just ask any magat; Idiot trump says it, it must be true!@Phys251 Of course I'm serious.
What exactly is the big deal about crossing political borders? People should be allowed to live wherever they choose. The same people who have no problem with an open border between CT and NY or California and Nevada, have a major stroke over an open border between the US and Mexico. It makes no sense whatsoever. Both countries would benefit.

It's kind of eye-opening alright. The federal government charging citizens for the right to buy food that's been imported.Sorry, this damn government has no business profiting off the price of any food items coming into this country. So you are paying about $9.30 a dozen? Damn!!Last week we paid $15.50 for twenty free range here in CA. Right now it's a matter of supply and demand that is driving up prices and it's not because of inflation as the progressives are saying. It's because of the bird flu.
The welfare states that Western democracies have painstakingly built over the past few decades would collapse
Imagine the federal government putting a 25% tax on food? It's jaw-dropping. Marginal, poverty-stricken people paying the price so the wealthy, influential upper crust can posture.Eggs in Canada are about $4.50.
