Edward Snowden: the whistleblower behind revelations of NSA surveillance

Because an official agent would have secured their data elsewhere rather than carrying it with them.

Is it true that he has now applied to Russia for "political asylum"?

Don't know, but if so we will never know the truth - or ever see him again.

Venezuela offers Snowden asylum

Great!

Now, can he get there?

It was outrageous that the Bolivian president's plane was diverted and searched. Can you imagine if Austria had done something like that to the Air Force One??? The U.S. is making fools of the Europeans, and they don't even realize it.

watch Daniel Wellsberg make a spot spot on explanation for the reasonableness of Snowden's disclosures as a whistleblower:

how can the executive possess all of the privileged information and not be tempted to use it to achieve the administration's purposes
and now that administration objects to that possibility and means and motivation being exposed. so much for transparancy

Putin and Obama want to maintain a semblance of partnership. Snowden - there is a problem in the relations between the two countries. Putin could to do so Snowden gave political asylum to South Ossetia (which the U.S. government did not recognize). To write a request to South Ossetia send in the U.S. Snowden, the United States should establish diplomatic relations to the country or leave alone Snowden.

Frankly, I wonder if Booz Allen should take him out. The damage is already done to the U.S.G., so it really has nothing to gain. But Booz Allen has a vested interest in demonstrating that it will clean up its own messes.

Which would also be extreme overreach. You believe some of the most irresponsible things. Irresponsible because they foster and enable tyranny.
