Edison in order to keep Tesla's AC electricity from getting the upper hand in the American market electrocuted an elephant and a human (in a very ghastly attempt) the first in human history. I never knew he was such a bastard. Edison was trying to make the point AC is dangerous and DC is not.

1.just a suggestion, if you are going to make a thread, make it one that people have somewhere to go off of. A question usually works, adding a poll is nice.

2. personally i like Tesla more than Edison. Edison is famous for taking the light bulb that was already created by sir Humphry Davy and spent a few hundred tries improving it. Mean while Tesla was trying to create a world wide energy broadcasting system on top of a world wide communications system. If he had been given more funding, Tesla could have theoretically done away with the power lines and we would be able to transfer electricity thousands of miles instead of it dissipating as heat after a few hundred on the powerlines (and by a few i mean that 300 miles is seriously pushing it). For those wondering, scientists today have proven that his design would work.

3. just thought of this actually, we could test out tesla's energy/communications grid in developing countries.

4. Although alternating current is still dangerous, d.c is far more dangerous when directly applied. Even Edison figured that out

I have an Edison creation that still plays, along with 50 records

Tesla rules, Edison drools!

No, Tesla could not have theoretically created such a system. And no they haven't proven it would work.

Agreed, but I do like that he lit up the grass in Colorado Springs. Of course he managed to also take out the town's power supply at the same time.

Edison was a trial and error kind of a solution seeker.
Tesla was a scientist and a true visionary.
There is really no comparison.

Tesla is overrated due to some bizarre, recent internet fad.
