The correct answer is that nobody knows. Common, firing one for releasing a bad jobs report? I guess the only way to survive in your government job is to support our dictator.

I think we know that it's probably plateauing or maybe even going in the wrong direction, though I wouldn't say it's recessionary.

If you are shooting the messenger, the message is never good. People aren't punished for delivering good news, they are punished for delivering bad news. Trump is acting like a CEO. If you give bad news to the public you are fired for making the company look bad. I said this during Trump's first term and since. He has no idea what the President is supposed to do. He treats the job like the greatest CEO gig in history.

The American economy always seems to do well.

We will see. In my little corner of the world the sales tax aid we got from the county was solid for the first 3 months. Have to wait for 2nd qtr numbers.

Good timing. I got my eng degree in 82 and had to move back home.

Not one jobs report. Years of them. Nearly 1 million jobs (that Biden took credit for) in 2024 vanished in revisions.

I think it was being incompetent in the job. The discrepancies were a bit much to think he was good at his work. Economy is much better than it was, Inflation down 1/2 %, Stock market hitting highs, just had 3% gdp growth, increased consumer spending and fewer imports, and taking in $150 billion in tariffs which is forcing better trade deals among trade partners.
And the democrats hate it.

Well, 258,000 have disappeared in Trump’s first six months, and we haven’t revised the July numbers, just yet.
Well, uh, but, uh, ! Never have democrats been so disappointed in winning.

Still in high-school. But I was working at Caldor, Bradlees, a pharmacy, 2 weeks at Burger King, woolworths and as a security guard all through the 80s during school. Accounting internship last 2 years of college. I leaned i prefer office work. Although the security guard bit was nice for getting school work done.

How's the kool-aid?

Remember Burger Chef? That was a high school job for me

I think that's a good take. The stock market is a good general economic indicator, and that's exactly what it's doing:

Tariffs will be a bearish force, but the economy generally improves in the fall and winter months, so who knows?

I'm not fan of Trump, but I'd like nothing more than for America to succeed in spite of having a clownish administration that doesn't know how to govern. While the ridiculous antics of a juvenile administration are nothing any American can be proud of, the American economy certainly is so far.

What about threatening Powell's job, also for incompetence?

Trump knows better than everybody about everything. If you don't agree you're not in the cult.

based on what ? what is being used to determine "good economy" in GW years, Obama years, Trump 1.0 and Biden years ?

give me something to base "good" on
