Freedom's Watch, one of the main propaganda arms of the Neoconservative movement, is toast. This makes half my day. It would make the other half of my day if MoveOn, the political organization at the other end of the spectrum from Freedoms's Watch, did the same. It's time we kicked all the extremist ass clowns to the curb. After all, there is a lot of Neocon damage that needs to be undone, and the last thing we need now are tools whose only purpose are to divide this nation, and its mission of restoration back to what it once was. One tool down. Many to go. But this is a damn good start.

I doubt most republicans have even heard of Freedom's Watch.

It was no MoveOn.org

MoveOn does seem to have a more successful marketing team. For better or worse...

I've personally only read of MoveOn and Freedom Watch through the boards here and articles here and there. I have never actually been to either site.

George Soros: The Man, The Mind And The Money Behind MoveOn

By INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY | Posted Thursday, September 20, 2007 4:20 PM PT

The Left: The smear ad published against Gen. Petraeus has drawn attention to its sponsor, MoveOn.org. But the fingerprints of the group's chief financial backer, George Soros, were all over it. Who is this man and what is he up to?

To read Soros' own spun story, he's a Jewish survivor of Nazi-occupied Hungary who pulled himself up by his bootstraps, studied economics in England, became a U.S. citizen in 1961 and made a multibillion-dollar fortune as a financier who pioneered hedge funds.

Over the years, Soros has written books giving his philosophical take on global affairs and acquired a reputation as something of a "stateless statesman." He calls himself a philanthropist and has given away $5 billion of his now $8.5 billion fortune through his principal vehicle, the Open Society Institute. The institute, in turn, has passed cash on to far more radical groups, such as MoveOn.org.

But Soros is no hands-off donor. According to the Open Society Institute's Web site: "Despite the breadth of his endeavors, Soros is personally involved in planning and implementing many of the foundation network's projects."

Soros says he gives away about $400 million annually.

It's an admirable picture, but "philanthropy" may be the wrong word. Unlike, say, Bill Gates, who really does put the bulk of his charity into helping the world's poor through medical services, Soros tends to fund pressure groups and foundations he misleadingly characterizes as promoting "civil society" and "democracy."

The image gives him moral cover to manipulate democracies whose voter verdicts he opposes

The article seemed fine to me. Unless facts you don't like somehow lead you to believe it's biased...

Its because he thinks that Soros, a billionaire btw, is some how a communist leftie pinko, and anything he funds must be leftwing commie pinko pro islamofascist trash.

Only thing Soros is guilty off, is to oppose George Bush and his friends and some idiotic policies of the Republican party.

Whereas Pete thinks in a similar vein about Rupert Murdoch, only from the opposite end of the political spectrum. So naturally it is always very funny watching Pete try to play water boy for Soros and square this with his many threads and posts about what Murdoch ownership "means" in the grand scheme of things.

See PeteEUism #1(knuckle dragery) is "republicans (Murdoch) bad, democrats (Soros) good". Never mind what the natural reversal of that puerile approach applied to Soros says about reality or oh say.......... Pete.:doh
