I found this ebook while surfing the web, and it is fascinating reading. The author, Bob Altemeyer, has been extensively quoted by John Dean, but not much is known about him otherwise. However, his work, and this book, is riveting.

When reading this book, it is important to understand a fundamental concept - Right wing authoritarianism and left wing authoritarianism is not the same as right or left wing political positions. Essentially right wing authoritarianism supports the status quo, whereas left wing authoritarianism pushes for change. If left wing authoritarianism is successful, then it ultimately becomes right wing authoritariansim, as it has now become the status quo.

Much has been written about the followers of authoritarianism, but not much about its leaders. This book is an in-depth look into the leaders, and why they are the way they are.

When you finish the book, please feel free to write a review and post it in this thread. Meanwhile, enjoy.

Ebook, in PDF format, is here.
