"The Environmental Protection Agency said on Friday that it would eliminate its scientific research arm and begin firing hundreds of chemists, biologists, toxicologists and other scientists, after denying for months that it intended to do so.

The move underscores how the Trump administration is forging ahead with efforts to slash the federal work force and dismantle federal agencies after the Supreme Court allowed these plans to proceed while legal challenges unfold. It wasn't enough that Trump removed over 100 EPA protections, giving the worst polluters the permission to pour shite into your air and toxic waste into rivers and waterways-with impunity, and now this. All great work but sure is a lot of money going into somebody's pocket. I don't think the $8 billion that NCI spends on cancer research is much of a drop in the bucket and EPA barely touches that.
This all comes back to thoughtful and precise spending not just throwing money around like it's unlimited. We have an amazing network of research groups working around the world on cancer research and they are not funded by the American taxpayers.
Plain and simple we need to spend thoughtfully which seems to be outside the governments capabilities.
We have the NCI and the EPA doesn't have to be a part of cancer research when so many other places are working on it. Let's consolidate some of the work and the spending.
Are they looking to solve cancer or looking to fund hundreds and thousands of researchers paychecks?
In reality it's a small cut, but small cuts is how we are going to have to save money, cut the budget and pay off the debt before we go broke and no research is done.
 
Where do all the folks upset about EPA think we can cut spending and shore up the future of all our programs. Spend, spend, spend isn't going to do it.

That's just you, again, running cover for Trump and the chaos he has created including now sacrificing MAGA children to disease/cancer/death because MAGA has been conditioned to hate the EPA (no matter what) by years of words by Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and Fox News and big businesses who don't want to be regulated so they can make more $$$$.

While, of course, other countries move ahead of us at light speed.

I've got $5,000 that says that MAGA communities will be damaged by cancers and hysterectomies and all sorts of diseases.

And all so that rich people like Donald Trump and Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos and CEOs can make more money and buy bigger yachts.

I skimmed an article the other day talking about why these mega rich guys are buying bigger and bigger boats. I thought it was a dick measuring contest, but the article said it is an effort to escape when shit hits the fan from all the damage they are creating in their quest for riches.
It said they are also building bunkers in remote parts of the world as well.
