The Trump administration deported Abrego-Garcia without due process.

The courts agreed.

The Supreme Court ruled 9-0 that he was entitled to due process and the Trump admin denied it to him. They ordered the Trump admin to remedy the unconstitutional act by "facilitating" his return.

"To this end, the Court hereby amends the Order to DIRECT that Defendants take all available steps to facilitate the return of Abrego Garcia to the United States as soon as possible,"

The Trump admin is openly defying this court order.

It's defenders are saying the court cannot overrule the president on matters of homeland security.

So, defenders of gun rights, are you OK with that?

Based on that precident the NEXT president could say 'I'm confiscating guns as a matter of homeland security."

Of course the supreme court would rule that unconstitutional, but the president could just say you can't over rule me on matters of homeland security.

Is that really the precidrnt you want set?

Why aren't you speaking out against Trumps unconstitutionsl actions?

Conservatives don’t have a problem being openly hypocritical. They don’t care about hypocrisy. They care about power and using that power to push their interests.

Conservatives support Trump’s unconstitutional actions now and would oppose a Democratic president’s unconstitutional actions using the same authority and powers in the future. Because that aligns with their interests.

Democrats need to learn this lesson and start doing the same thing. Conservatives can go **** themselves. When Democrats have power again they should use every ounce of it to push their agenda, Constitution be damned.

I agree, but instead of democrats becoming constitutional hypocrites too, I think Americans need to stop tolerating it from matter.

Constitutional principles matter.

Constitutional principles matrer.

Cool. When conservatives start doing that, we can talk. Otherwise it’s idiotic for one party to stick to its principles when the other party doesn’t.

The Supreme Court ruled that Abrego Garcia was subject to a withholding order forbidding his removal to El Salvador, and that the removal to El Salvador was therefore illegal. Not that he did not have due process, which he did or that he could not be deported to another country.

You missed the point. SCOTUS ordered Trump administration to do something and Trump is choosing to ignore it. OP is asking if you are fine with that precedent.

That depends on if El Salvador agrees to letting him return and what measures the Trump administration takes for his release. The rest I mentioned was also inaccurate and needed to be added.

Trump admitted he hasn't even asked.

He is openly defying the supreme court.

You OK with that?

The President of El Salvador already said he was not going to release him.
Trump admits he hasn't even asked him. Trump is defying a court order ..

If Trump asked he would be on a plane in an hour. We are paying them to keep him. We have tons of other leverage too.

I'm so tired of the disingenuous crap.

All Trump has to do is threaten to stop paying El Salvador and he’ll be back tomorrow. Why hasn’t Trump done that?

I think you are discussing the Right Wing there, not conservatives... however...

Democrats need to learn this lesson

This is hilarious. :D Yeah, Can you imagine what it would be like if the Democrats became hypocrites when it came to Federal / Presidential use and abuse of power? :p

Oh hey look, it's exactly what Republicans have been saying for the last several years.

Everyone thinks they are the victim, and only responding to what The Other Side Did

When did Democrats do anything even remotely comparable to what Trump has done?

So what do you do when a country refuses to release someone who just accepted a citizen back? El Salvador is a sovereign nation that doesn’t have to abide by another countries government.

Since you stopped reading at the first sentence here is the part you missed.

You’re assuming El Salvador will return him, even when asked. Even though publically they said they would not.

“Bukele, return him or I will put a couple Tomahawk cruise missiles into your house.”

Would he refuse after that?

You're assuming we have no bargaining chips with El Salvadore. Either tRump is weak, you're lying, or both.

Bullshit.

He was not given a hearing before he was deported. That is a lack of due process. DO NOT attempt to make excuses for obvious violations of the constitution.

Um, excuse me? You’re going to send bombs to El Salvador, even though they accepted our deal to take him back. Now we need to go back on that deal by the use of cruse misses?!?

If Ukele refuses to return that man, he is illegally holding a hostage and will be dealt with accordingly.

The court hearing said not to deport to El Salvador, not that he can’t be deported to another country. He already got due process.
