  • Liberals don’t believe in the Constitution. Typically they deny this, but that’s exactly what a “living” Constitution means. You make it up as you go along.
  • The “you only have to listen to people you already agree with” nature of social media has dramatically ramped up the level of tribalism in the United States.
  • Federalism is a safety valve on the American pressure cooker. As long as people in San Francisco can, for the most part, live the way they want to live while the people in rural North Carolina can, for the most part, live the way they want to live, it’s much easier for everyone to get along. When people are unnecessarily forced to live under rules they find abhorrent because the federal government has become an octopus that has inserted its tentacles into every minute crevice of American life, it creates discontent on a wide scale.
  • Moral Decline: As Samuel Adams once noted, “A general dissolution of principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy.
  • We will face a debt-driven economic collapse; borrowed money will stop flowing into the United States and Medicare/Social Security as we know it will fall apart because we will not have the money to pay it.
  • Liberals have fallen in love with the idea of ignoring the 2nd Amendment and confiscating all firearms. The logistics of doing this in a nation with hundreds of millions of guns when many police departments and tens of millions of Americans would not cooperate is seldom discussed.

When the left becomes frustrated with a lack of progress toward their utopian agenda, when the people start pushing back against it, they typically start militating for an end to civil liberties, and that is what we are seeing in the US now. No more free speech, no more freedom of religion, no more 2nd Amendment, no more Federalism because all of that gets in the way. In places like the former USSR, in China, in Venezuela, in Cambodia, and in other places we can see the results of following this path.

All power to the State.
All individual rights subordinated to the State.

They think that they are good, virtuous people, doing the right thing.

It's all "their" fault but I am not doing anything to add to the problem by constantly attacking "them". Right? ;)

Lowdown, if you really cared you would be starting dialogues on how we can get over our differences and try and work together instead of spouting widely ignorant stereotypes that flame the fires. But we all know what you're really about.

Well, I hate to break it to you, but "the left" is currently out of power in the presidency and in both houses of Congress (despite winning the popular vote for both the presidency and the last senate election). You appear to be living in an inverted "reality."

LOL You thought it was about politics. The Leftist agenda is forced upon us more-so by push groups, academia and the press.

Oh look, another idiotic right wing liberals are poopyheads thread.

Want to know the problem with this country, take a look in the mirror

There isn't going to be a civil war. Most of us are too broke to take the time off of work, and the five chubby old white men who own all of the money sure as hell aren't going to pay for it. If you don't like the way things are, vote.

1. Some people don't jerk off to the Constitution like RWNJs do, even if we have it hanging up on our walls.
2. Fake News social media is rampant on both sides, and more loudly on the right. Especially since they are in power.

I always find it interesting that cons want people who believe as they do to have their rights protected, but not those who believe otherwise. If your people win out we will go back to segregation and the persecution of gay people., nd maybe Catholics too, as I found out in the 50's living in Lousiville, KY.

It's nit just conservative or Republican trait. The libs and Democrats do the exact same thing.

Fear monger much. This is no better than the rights version saying if your people win owning guns and using the wrong pronoun would be worse crimes than murder.

Your paranoid rhetoric cup runneth over..

They way I see it we are already in a war on civility. Trying to compromise and work together with the opposition towards a solution is looked down upon and even outright attacked.

Speaking of civil war, today is Confederate Memorial Day in Alabama, a state holiday that celebrates their role in the war in which they fought to secede from the Union and keep slavery legal.

Happy Confederate Memorial Day, Alabama!

LOL You thought it was about politics. The Leftist agenda is forced upon us more-so by push groups, academia and the press.

Yeah so let's ban science, start burning books and start tossing reporters into jail "until they are ready to talk". Right?

Wow... that's really a thing.

So you admit what I say is right?

You can go ahead and tell yourself whatever it is you want believe. Isn't that what you do most of the time?

Sad to say but a civil war is not out of the question. There's more hate in the country than in the 1960's
and maybe even more than in the 1860's. But we do not have men as dauntless & chivalrous as we had then.

Lowdown, if you really cared you would be starting dialogues on how we can get over our differences and try and work together instead of spouting widely ignorant stereotypes that flame the fires. But we all know what you're really about.

Normal Americans cannot work with the violent left, who uses said violence as a "means to justify the ends." This justification comes from frustration, as Lowdown pointed out. I might also add the left labels others who disagree with them as "less than" which gives the left ALL the authority they need to inflict harm. Just ask Antifa.

And, one more thing. Practice what you preach. Take some responsibility to start threads you so demand of others. ;)

SS...If it will help, I made a poll once asking who would be willing to stop hating and start participating.
I was pleased there was a more than 2 to 1 majority who chose to engage in dialog rather than continue the hate.

What was also quite revealing was the fact, as your post says, those of whom chose to continue the hating (100% of the time) blamed "those other guys" as the reason they need to continue be mean.

I like my " eating a cold can of tuna in the rain and in a ditch " scenario also as a reason there will be no second civil war.
Few, right or left, are willing to do that for a few years for some political ideology.
We would rather do our fighting over the internet on forums or cuss at the TV.

NeverTrumpGOP...I remember a best seller from the 80's being sold in survivalist bookstores titled " How to Survive the Coming Economic Collapse of the 70's", or something like that.
They had to keep updating it to say...80's...no...90's....no...new century....no...
Ask your boss if he has any of those books.
I bet 20 bucks he has them all.

Cardinal...In college, I had a professor who had a bumper sticker on his office door that said " I will live in the 60's till something better comes along ".
We all knew it was a cute comment.

However, I never knew an ENTIRE STATE would think that way.
They seem to want to like to live in both 60's. The 1860's and the 1960's.

That being said, I still feel each and every state should be free to enjoy their own holidays.
If they like it, then it is their state and that is their business.
Statues were put up by a local municipal decree, and should be taken down the same way.
NO MOBS.

Darn, and my white robe and hood have yet to arrive from the RNC.

How about riot, break, and burn on campus when speakers are invited of whom they disagree with.
This has already happened many times.
