About one in six state lawmakers have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to Dr. Thomas Dobbs of the Mississippi Health Department.
Source: (CNN) Dozens of Mississippi lawmakers have coronavirus after weeks of refusing to wear masksFor weeks, politicians flouted mask recommendations inside the state Capitol. Twenty-six state legislators have now tested positive for Covid-19, including Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann and State House Speaker Philip Gunn. Neither man wore a mask at a bill signing at the governor's mansion last week.

:mrgreen:As an Arkansan, I can only say,
Thank God for Mississippi.
Alright, enough laughing. Yeah, may those endangered citizens overcome their adversity. Been there. Wasn't fun.And seriously, bless those poor folks over there suffering a little worse than us
That was a great movie! :thumbs:Well maybe there is...

I've never felt mean toward 'em. It's not like they're Texans or something.

So, do feel for them.
It sucks to see things going all surreal dystopia like this, govt. earnestly trying to potemkin the virus like that'll somehow work.
It shows they've grown used to ****ing with the numbers to keep us quiet.
It's different now.
These chickens are the quick roosting kind — rapid roosters.
The pols will still be in office with egg on their faces when the chickens re-coop.

that's funnyI see song lyrics in your post. You should consider giving that line of work a go.
To the bolded, absolutely. I suspect they are still ****ing with the numbers, looking for cooperative medical personnel who will identify patients whose hearts give out after weeks of fighting Covid-19 with "heart attack" as cause of death so they don't affect the Covid death count.
A few years down the road, when this administration's riff-raff has been swept into the dustbin of history and positions are refilled with actual professionals, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that what is being reported now is a significant percentage below what actually occurred "back in the bad old days of the 2020 Covid pandemic".
Could be worse. The dear Mrs. Chomsky had the audacity to vote for Trump! She has since come to her senses. She was a one issue voter, but now can't stand him even if she still supports the issue.:doh
And Lady Bum wonders why I rate politicians just below crotch rot in usefulness......

Yeah, it was a real-life example of sleeping with the enemy. But we'd never let something like politics interfere with our relationship. In fact, politics mean little to her. So apparently, my love of politics makes up for that!
The bolded is a great reference! :thumbs:I've never felt mean toward 'em. It's not like they're Texans or something.

They're actually alright ... as long as they let someone else drive when they're here. The bolded is a great reference!
And while I know you were joking, I've always had a soft spot for Texas & Texans!

Your prediction will encompass much more than the pandemic. Wait 'till we hear what those in other governments tell us, when they no longer fear him. The graft & corruption will be legion. To the bolded, absolutely. If one of the old geezers dies from COVID19, that could be the best thing he could do for America.
Hear me out!
It would make people take the virus more seriously, and the politician's death would save tens of thousands of American lives.
Which is a Hell of a lot more than most politicians do.
You might be a computer simulation of a brain in a vatHow do we know they really have it? Maybe a member of the opposite party had his doctor say it was Covid when it wasn't..
Just sayin.
