DOW to DOD to DOW

What do you think of it going from the DOD back to the DOW?

Not sure of the reason behind it. Is it just Chest pounding, or a reversal of Liberal euphemisms....?
Seems unnecessary but I'm not in the trenches of the Swamp , so not willing or able to cast any stones....

But Trump has done MUCH GOOD for America so it's really a don't care at this point.

Truth is the foundation of reality. When Trump needs to justify increased spending for war, he becomes desperate. People back home are watching prices skyrocket at Walmart, experiencing an ‘Overnight Price Increase’. Consumer goods jumped 10% from Monday to Tuesday. It seems the Tariff War is driving up prices across the board on everything. Thus you are in Trump’s War on the US using military for political rhetoric. There are plenty of opportunities to deploy Armed Guards to fight the War on Drugs, Enforcing ICE, policing blue communities. If I didn't know better, I would say America is becoming a Police State.

With the federal government having such a large debt and running deficits in spending do you believe it is worth the money to change the name back to DOW? Some have brought up the cost to relabel. imo, it is not worth the cost.
 
Reality Check: The President and the executive branch cannot unilaterally rename government agencies; the authority to restructure and rename agencies typically rests with Congress, which creates them through legislation, though Congress can delegate limited reorganization authority to the President to some extent. While Presidents can direct agencies to use different titles, formally renaming an agency requires congressional approval or changes to the agency's enabling legislation.

AUGUST 10, 1949
The National Security Act is amended, renaming the National Military Establishment to the Department of Defense. The change rescinded the cabinet-level statuses of Army, Navy and Air Force secretaries and made them all subordinate to the secretary of defense, whose authority and responsibilities increased. The amendment also established a chairman for the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

As my family and in-laws who have or are currently serving think: stupid, meaningless crap.

It doesn’t do anything for the military: no improvements in training, equipment cohesion, etc. The warrior ethos is there and has been there a century or so at least. And no one in the world is intimidated by the change and are pretty much laughing at it.

The only thing to, perhaps, worry about is that this makes both Trump and Hegseth look weak as military leaders. Other militaries and leaders know that this is just all optics and distractions and that is all that Trump and Hegset worry about.

No one is going to fight the name change or protest in the streets: it is a non-issue in that regard. What it does do is show our enemies that our leaders are so weak that they think optics are the important issue and may prompt them to have ideas…which is already happening.
