Pesident Donald Trump's immigration approval rating has fallen to a second-term low. According to polling by Morning Consult, Trump's net approval rating on the policy area is + 4 percentage points, the lowest the pollsters have measured since he retook office in January. This means that during his second term, his approval rating for this theme has dropped by 7 percentage points. Trump has made immigration a priority during his second term. He has vowed to crack down on border security, carry out mass deportations and end federal benefits for people entering the country illegally. His declining approval rating on this matter could be a blow to his agenda. Previous polls have revealed immigration is one of the only areas Trump has commanded broad support so it will be important to maintain this support as voters head to the midterms in November 2026. It comes amid other negative polling regarding the president. Last month, a Quinnipiac poll revealed that the president has a 37 percent approval rating versus a 55 percent disapproval rating, a new low for these pollsters. And according to recent YouGov polling for U.K. newspaper The Times, the proportion of people who disapprove of Trump's job performance has increased from 52 percent in April to 57 percent in July.

I think most Americans, while supportive of border security, are shocked at the behaviors of masked ICE agents, raiding schools, churches, farms, and immigration offices/courts. They even arrested active firefighters in Washington state.

Under the recently passed Trump/GOP Big Cruel Bill, ICE will have a new budget of $170 billion over 3 years. That is more than the combined defense budgets of France and the UK.

The Trump administration's promise to only deport the "worst of the worst" illegal immigrants was an obvious lie.....

Trump lie? Say it ain't so.

This is trump's version of a strong man, send in masked whoever, to keep the criminals in place but only in 'democrat' cities and his base will suck it up like it was golden honey.

It's likely to get worse. I saw a report on the ICE recruitment program . The requirements are very low , high school no experience required. The kids I saw interviewed were not the type I would want to see armed and masked. They were wannabe toughies

It appears more Americans are in approval, so live with it. It's like the election, Trump said what he intended and the voters elected him and now the left cries. We had 4 years of BS from the Biden administration and had to deal with the stupidity. Now democrats want to block and intervere in everything Trump. This is the shift we see in politics and it's caused by democrats. So next time the dems get into power, (if that ever happens) expect republican supporters to demand that our representatives act exactly like the left, cry, whine, bitch, make unfounded and unsupported accusations about every thing a democrat president does.
The voters called it, and now democrats are acting like little children who had their favorite toy taken from them.

Who will gleefully abuse Latino men, women, and children.

He lied when he said the worst of the worst.

Instead, they are deporting good workers and hurting the economy.

Where are the stories about immigrant criminals being caught and deported?

Most of the stories are workers and people following all the rules, being picked up when they report in like they are supposed to.

A green card holder goes in to take the citizenship test, passes the test, and then is picked up by ICE at the immigration center because she is "low hanging fruit" and artificial quotas have been imposed that don't give ICE enough time to go after the more elusive ones who evade detection? That's not making America great. She was working and contributing to the economy. Dumb!
