Donald Trump's immigration approval rating falls to second-term low: Poll
According to a new poll, the proportion of voters who approve of the president's approach to immigration is declining.

9.3.25
Pesident Donald Trump's immigration approval rating has fallen to a second-term low. According to polling by Morning Consult, Trump's net approval rating on the policy area is + 4 percentage points, the lowest the pollsters have measured since he retook office in January. This means that during his second term, his approval rating for this theme has dropped by 7 percentage points. Trump has made immigration a priority during his second term. He has vowed to crack down on border security, carry out mass deportations and end federal benefits for people entering the country illegally. His declining approval rating on this matter could be a blow to his agenda. Previous polls have revealed immigration is one of the only areas Trump has commanded broad support so it will be important to maintain this support as voters head to the midterms in November 2026. It comes amid other negative polling regarding the president. Last month, a Quinnipiac poll revealed that the president has a 37 percent approval rating versus a 55 percent disapproval rating, a new low for these pollsters. And according to recent YouGov polling for U.K. newspaper The Times, the proportion of people who disapprove of Trump's job performance has increased from 52 percent in April to 57 percent in July.
I think most Americans, while supportive of border security, are shocked at the behaviors of masked ICE agents, raiding schools, churches, farms, and immigration offices/courts. They even arrested active firefighters in Washington state.
Under the recently passed Trump/GOP Big Cruel Bill, ICE will have a new budget of $170 billion over 3 years. That is more than the combined defense budgets of France and the UK.
The Trump administration's promise to only deport the "worst of the worst" illegal immigrants was an obvious lie.....

ICE vowed to target violent undocumented immigrants, but only 6% accused of murder have been arrested
ICE promised to arrest undocumented immigrants accused of murder, but only 6% have been detained—raising concerns about enforcement's approach.
