Trump hates America, that's pretty evident.
He's doing everything in his power to destroy America and everyone who lives in it. Perhaps he's never forgiven us for rejecting him in the 2020 election.
I never hear pundits say the ONE reason why Trump's tariffs are doomed to fail. All they'll bring us are pain, empty shelves and a hollowed out existence in what was once a pretty great nation.
The reason Trump's tariffs will fail is because it's impossible to bring manufacturing back to America.
Why are we able to afford a $8 T-shirt or a $20 coffee maker or a $700 iPhone? Because they are produced in countries where the labor in China is paid anywhere from $0.50 to $3.64 per hour. Laborers live in shared dormitories with something like 6 people to a room.
Now try to imagine what a T-shirt and iPhone would cost in America where the hourly wage has to be from $20 to $30 and rents start at about $1500 for a one-bedroom. Can't be done. That $20 coffee pot would exponentially rise in price to a few hundred dollars. Please don't quibble with me over the figure. You get the idea.
The only way manufacturing could return to America is if everything was automated. And that would cost a few trillion dollars and five years minimum to automate automobile and manufacturing plants. We simply haven't got the time and and business owners know this. They know that Trump is about as flighty as a schoolgirl and that his ideas change from minute to minute. One minute he's determined to keep tariffs at 145% and the next minute he'll knock them down to 20% on a whim and then the next he'll bump them up to 250% because China pisses him off a little. No corporation their right mind is going to invest hundreds of billions of dollars to build new plants in America with such madness coming from the White House.
America simply will not be able to afford the cost of the products that will be built here in America if bosses have to pay their employees $30 an hour.
That's why Trump's harebrained plan to bring manufacturing back to America is going to fail and drive us all off a cliff as it is doing now.
