President Donald Trump has expressed his anger over Jimmy Kimmel's return to late-night television on Tuesday, saying that the comedian was “not funny” and “his talent was never there.” Kimmel returned to his show on Tuesday after a six-day suspension following a joke he made in the aftermath of Charlie Kirk’s death. Trump posted on Truth Social: “I can’t believe ABC Fake News gave Jimmy Kimmel his job back. The White House was told by ABC that his Show was cancelled! Kimmel's suspension and unsuspension is part of a major conversation about free speech in America right now, with multiple people fired, suspended or expelled for what they have said in the aftermath of Kirk's death. The situation highlights concerns over corporate media influence, the boundaries of on-air commentary, and the potential impact of government and regulatory involvement in entertainment programming.

Jimmy Kimmel joked in his first show back: “(Trump) tried his best to cancel me, instead he forced millions of people to watch the show. That backfired bigly. He might have to release the Epstein files to distract us from this now.”

Trump can eat shit. His "free speech fascism" was overt as was that of his FCC Chairman Brendan Carr.

btw: That same Brendan Carr of the Heritage Foundation wrote the Media Section of their Project 2025 manifesto... from defunding PBS to banning Liberal journalists from the White House Press Corps and much more.

On a more serious point....

ABC and other media outlets should learn that appeasement does not work. E.g. ABC caved to one of El Jefe's frivolous defamation suits, with the expectation that would placate him -- and clearly it did not work.

The only option is to fight back, no matter how loudly the impotent old coot yells at the TV.

The 4th Estate tripped up. Maybe they are getting their stride back.

Remember..... media conglomerates Sinclair and Nexstar (who each own many local ABC affilliate channels) have not brought back Jimmy Kimmel. Both companies are controled by pro-Trump CEO's.

Nextstar and media company Tegna are awaiting FCC approval for their merger. The problem is their merger would result in a new company that controls over 39% of US television channels.

Anything over 39% is illegal according to US law. Monopolistic. Trump appointed FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr said he would seek a waiver for the merger.

Carr is using the proposed merger to force Nexstar and Tegna to do what he tells them to do.... silence Trump's On-Air critics. They used to call this a "shakedown".

What did we expect to have happen? It should have been obvious Trump would resort to a TruthSocial temper tantrum meltdown level posting streak.

I think the US has come to a tipping point where this is critically important. America's institutions, businesses, media outlets, academics, scientists etc. Need to fight back and not acquiesce. The more they fight back , the more extreme he will get and the more he will reveal himself for what he is.

We'll see what their customers have to say about that.
