Now this piece of shit adminstration are looking to denaturalize citizens.
Pretty sure there has to be some type of criminal behavior involved.
Here ya go . . .
'Should be investigated': Leavitt says Trump could revoke mayoral candidate's citizenship -- Carl Gibson, Alternet, 6/30/2025
According to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, President Donald Trump has not yet ruled out stripping U.S. citizenship from New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.
Once you've accepted the principle that American citizenship is always tenuous and can be revoked, then there's no limiting principle that will restrict it those people. If you want to denaturalize people committed of heinous crimes, why would you be concerned about denaturalizing people convicted of petty crimes? What about people who just stir up trouble but don't break the law?
American citizenship, once granted, is nearly irrevocable. The only exceptions are people who committed immigration fraud to get their citizenship, and even then it's extremely rare in practice and only done when the fraud would have affected the citizenship decision. Aside from those extremely rare cases, there's no crime that an American citizen can commit to lose their citizenship. And that's probably for the best, given the ugly history that many other nations have with denaturalizing their citizens.
I understand where you’re coming from, but reject the proposition that citizenship for naturalized Americans is, or will become “tenuous”.
why would they do that ?
what reasons would they have ?
The article is about the DOJ announcement that they intend to denaturalize Americans.
It's in the OP.
Totally. She received an Einstein visa and ended up doing a bunch of soft-porn modelingDidn't Melania lie on her citizenship paperwork?
I don’t “must” anything, and as every single comment I’ve ever posted related to Traitor Trump very clearly indicates, I have no trust whatsoever for Traitor Trump or anyone aligned with him.You must be able to throW Trumpco a far piece to be so trusting of THE GUY WHO CALLED FOR TERMINATING THE US CONSTITUTION.
Take a slow breath, @Simon W. Moon.**** THAT SHIT!
AMERICANS ARE AMERICANS!**** TAKING AWAY AMERICANS' CITIZENSHIP!**** EVERYONE WHO COMES AFTER AMERICANS!
You are asking for Americans to become second class citizens.
Trumpco is already slavering to do horrible things to non-citizens.
as plain as dogshit on a shoe,
There is zero chance that opening the door to declaring Americans not Americans will end well.
I wish I could throw him all the way to Russia. How far can you throw the Trump Admin?
did you read it ?
the OP says
Now this piece of shit adminstration are looking to denaturalize citizens. WHY
I have zero doubts they will use this to go after anyone that doesn't support Israel or is very much a dissedent against the Trump admin. IS THAT WHAT IS SAYS ?
Looking at if they try it with Mamdani like some GOP scum want to do. DOES HE MEET THE QUALIFICATIONS
all fear mongering what-ifs and maybe's and Trump hate
from the article
At least one person has already been denaturalized in recent weeks. On June 13, a judge ordered the revocation of the citizenship of Elliott Duke, who uses they/them pronouns. Duke is an American military veteran originally from the U.K. who was convicted for distributing child sexual abuse material — something they later admitted they were doing prior to becoming a U.S. citizen.
ok so we know it happens anyway BEFORE this bill, right ?
It's meant to strip citizenship from those who may have lied about their criminal convictions or membership in illegal groups like the Nazi party, or communists during McCarthyism, on their citizenship applications.
I mean why wouldn't that be sensible ?
According to this new memo, the DOJ is expanding its criteria of which crimes put individuals at risk of losing their citizenship. That includes national security violations and committing acts of fraud against individuals or against the government, like Paycheck Protection Program loan fraud or Medicaid or Medicare fraud.
again ... do the crimes, pay the prices for it. Don't be a criminal
That is, until the Obama administration, which used new digital tools to find potential cases of naturalization fraud going back decades. Under Operation Janus, an initiative launched by immigration and justice officials in the Obama era, they claimed a national security interest in examining potential cases of immigration fraud that could be tied to terrorism.
Obama did it too - Democrats and Republicans were ok with it
so .... why the Trump hate in trying to make the USA safer ?????
I don’t “must” anything, and as every single comment I’ve ever posted related to Traitor Trump very clearly indicates, I have no trust whatsoever for Traitor Trump or anyone aligned with him.
In fact, I completely distrust every word that escapes his orange blowhole.
Take a slow breath, @Simon W. Moon.
On second thought, take a bunch of slow breaths and get a grip on yourself.
I wish I could throw him all the way to Russia.
Seriously, if you’re capable of having an objective fact/reality based discussion, feel free to post to me.
Otherwise, save your rants for someone else, because I’ve no interest in responding to them.
I understand where you’re coming from, but reject the proposition that citizenship for naturalized Americans is, or will become “tenuous”.
what bill?
the article in the OP is about a memo where the DOJ outlines new priorities
maybe we're having two different conversations
the "it" here is the mysterious bill you are referring to?
feel free to pretend people are trying to prevent criminals from facing justice all you like
but pretending that ain't helping nothing, tho
the point is that this "price" endangers American liberty
1st,
If the new DOJ memo is the same-ol same-ol, then there would not be a memo
2nd,
The memo itself indicates that it is about CHANGES to priorities.pretending this is all about things remaining the same is something you can dobut pretending that ain't helping no one, tho
The guy who wants to TERMINATE THE US CONSITITUTION has
ARMED GANGS OF ANONYMOUS THUGS ROAM THE STREETS TAKING PEOPLE AWAY
to you, that is safer
that's a ****ing whacked way of seeing safety
Does your view on "safety" come from being so trusting of politicians?
.
wasn't that all included in the BBB ??? maybe I am confusing the two
'denaturalization' can only happen when someone is naturalized, and there was a material lie/fraud in the naturalization process. It has to be pretty flagrant. It cannot be used because of someone's political beliefs, and does not apply to natural born citizens. I suspect that in most cases the DOJ is focused on the primary offense, and just doesn't prioritize starting another judicial process to denaturalize someone.

Obama gave way to Trump expanding upon this in his first term.

No, I didn’t.You stated you had faith.
“Trust” is a significant word to me. I don’t place trust in anyone that I don’t know, or know anything about, so answering your overly broad question isn’t possible.Who exactly are you trusting to keep Trumpco from ignoring laws and continuing in their attempts to terminate the US Constitution?
Again, I haven’t said I have faith.Who is your faith in?
